Something is in the air. I hope and believe they at least make it to the final

For sure Denmark will be the toughest opponents England have met so far.

I do think England will meet Italy in the final but I have no idea what will happen then.

Great to see Italy back at the top of their game. The last World Cup was less of a contest without them.

Yesterday's match was terrible. Even though Danes were worse after the first half, the were still robbed, pure bs.

Yeah, falling over convincingly has long been part of the professional game....

What a sad way to win a semi

I thought England played better and probably deserved to go through on balance, but yes, that was a total dive by Sterling.

The Danes were robbed sadly, and what a complete failure of VAR to do its job correctly.

Had it of gone to penalties, I would have favored the Danes to go through.

Not sure what way Sundays final will go. Italy have looked the team of the tournament IMO but they looked like they gave their all and then some against Spain.

I'd fancy England to be the fresher team even though the Italians will have had a little more rest.

Should be a good game... my heart says Italy, head says England will win.

**EDIT** Anyone watch The Lions Vs The Sharks yesterday? Lions looked v impressive...I hope the tour will still go ahead!

Definately England looked better than Denmark after the first half and they deserved to win but not like this. Unfortunately Sterling is well known diver, too bad behavior like this still goes unpunished, so all it takes for a player is to give up his "honor".

Also agree that it was a complete disaster of VAR, how can a PROFESSIONAL referee not have a look at it in semi finals, the match is close to the end and it is certain that the penalty is going to affect the result, seriously WTF.

Not to mention English supporters using lasers to blind Schmeichel, England playing almost exclusively on their turf, hence being less tired, + pretty much banning other team's fans due to COVID restrictions.

This must be the first time I'm all against England in a football tournament, so hoping to see strong Italy.

Reminds me that someone once said -

"Football, a game where men  who aren't injured pretend they are.

Rugby, a game where men who are injured pretend they aren't."

@TrueGreyAs for a team having an advantage but not having to travel as far as their opponent it didn't bother Denmark when they played Wales who had been to Baku twice, Rome and then  Amsterdam. We don't complain about the result as we lost fair and square.

And the Dutch banned Wales fans from the Denmark game and Italy banned English fans from their game against Germany so I don't think you can blame the English for Covid restrictions.

As for the laser, I hope they catch the scum in question and string him up.

There is truth in these words, maybe I'm unlucky (?) to remember the old days when it wasn't like that...

I blame mostly UEFA, as organisation of current EURO is seriously terrible, it's not fair at all, and as said I wouldn't mind Danes losing just not like that (scandalous referee's decision), the rest of the complaints is just an "addition".

Hopefully there won't be any huge mistakes during the final.

You'd never guess.

There was contact so it was a penalty.  At those speeds it doesn't take a lot of contact to cause a fall.  Having a second player come in to finish the job rounded it off.

There was a Danish infringement at the time the free kick was taken so their goal should have been nullified.

This is all hot air though - England v Italy will be interesting.

No, it's a contact sport after all, if all it takes for a penalty is any contact, we would see dozens of them every match.

He was going for the dive even before the contact, Sterling is a well known diver, he proved this numerous times. Anyway still the one to blame for this is the referee, who neglected VAR.

True, it was not 100% correct but come on, standing half a meter further from English wall probably wouldn't change anything in that case.

Yeah looking forward to seeing it :)

Using lazer against goalkeeper. booing during Danish National Song, and finally Sterlings acting. It was a shameful show by the English. But they was better in last 45

This however make me wish for a Italian win. A fucking disrespectful behavior. Kane also had a tendensy to run into everyones feet

I think [Dr. Evil voice] = 1: “Forwards with fricken lasers on their foreheads,” [Dr.Evil voice] = 0, might a actually make that sport watchable for me.

Lol?. Did I say ‘convincingly’?

Raheem Stirling’s account of the incident is

“I felt him touch my legs. It’s a penalty!”

In the modern game he is to be congratulated by his team mates and the tv pundits as he has ‘won ‘ a penalty.

?

Important to remember this is now a facet of the entire professional game.....

1.Holland*

2.Croatia....hats of to them to come back like that

3. Spain*

*Not much of an expert but I like their gameplay.

Yeah, we're in an age where "sports clubs" are just another for-profit corporation, so the idea of playing the actual game has to take second place after making money.

That's one of the reasons why I don't usually watch 22 millionaires chase and kick a ball for 90 minutes or buying any of their turd-merchandise.

Millions of people do, though.

A real pity - imagine what we could achieve if those people actually cared that much about important issues...

Anyhoo, I was glad the Three Lions kicked out our team of clusterduck and ballsniffing Jogy Löw.

As much as I'd like England to win the title, I think la Squadra Azzura will win it. And probably rightly so.

I've already seen England play Italy in the European Championship.

england-fans-during-the-euro-1980-match-

1980 Turin. I'm in there somewhere. We spent the entire match beneath a rain of coins and bottles thrown by the Italian fans above. Mind you, it was better than being tear-gassed during the previous match against Belgium. I didn't go to see England play again after that; decided that it wasn't quite my thing.

As for tonight, I'd love England to win but hope that the team that shows the most flair and imagination does, and I suspect that could be Italy.

Congratulations to Italy.

It was a good game,  England better first half,  Italy the second.  Extra time pretty even.

Penalties,  well, lol.

What a great sport weekend, Italy wins Euro, Connor McGregor loses to Poirer, couldn't go any better. And the final match was nice to watch, cheers for both teams, really enjoyed it, but had to admit during the first half was kinda worried about the outcome.

Never mind England. You're still the best Morris Dancers in the world bar none. No nation can ever take that away from you.

I wouldn't be so sure. Morris as in the dancing is a corruption of Moorish and they used to black their faces. So will soon be banned for being racist.

The clip looks like a rehearsal for Monty Python
