Voidhunger Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Thanks for the update, but big stutters are still there for me I still have to play at low graphic settings
71st_AH_Hooves Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 So far the servers ive tried are still the lapino map.
EAF_Paf Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 The new trees variation seems a small feature, but it adds soo much!! Would love to have this in ROF Nice you made this step!
GRehalkov Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 It seems like the ugly cloud fuzziness is gone, at least for me...
Sandhill Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Also, I do like a bit of variety in the trees I frequently crash into while strafing trucks, so thanks for that. +1 Nice update, thanks
=RkSq=Hulkbeard Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 the maps are rotating oh nice, are there multiple ground starts for each side? I'm stuck at work and can't get BoS out of my mind. also, Thanks Devs!!
fjacobsen Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 I have goof FPS even on a full server fling over Stalingrad. Only when flying close to clouds ans smoke plumes over Stalingrad, I get some occasional micro stutters. FinnJ
Nage Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 (edited) blurred planes in front of clouds still not fixed Edited June 20, 2014 by tikvic
SOLIDKREATE Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Finally we can fight in the area to which the game was named after.
lennycutler Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 The blurry aircraft in front of clouds is a killer for any real immersion .....but I am surprised that the developers have not specifically commented on when this will be fixed. Now I am reduced to flying with little to no clouds...just to keep my self from getting frustrated when aiming at a blurry enemy AI plane.

I think part of their problems is that not everyone has this bug. In fact if you read above, someone points out that they have indeed fixed the problem for him. The two hardest bugs to squash are the intermitent bug and the inconsistent bug!

In fact if you read above, someone points out that they have indeed fixed the problem for him. The two hardest bugs to squash are the intermitent bug and the inconsistent bug! I don't have 100% certified information, but since the same cloud rendering tech is being used in ArmA 3 and War Thunder (with the same exact anti-aliasing issues) I don't think it's a strictly Battle of Stalingrad problem, but an issue of the cloud rendering itself...which I'm pretty sure was created and sold by a 3rd party developer. Like I said in other threads, the fix for the anti-aliasing in these clouds most likely isn't going to come from 777/1C, but from the aforementioned 3rd party developer...which may be a while, or never...since an issue so critical would probably have been resolved by now if it could. Long story short, I wouldn't bet on seeing a fix for the jagged planes issue against clouds any time soon (at no fault of 777/1C).
[TWB]L4yercake Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 I'd like to hear the plans for the Fw 190 availability for those that are Silver owners. Will we be able to purchase the 190 right from the get go when it gets released in or will we have to wait until the full release?
SCG_Space_Ghost Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 -snip- Thanks for... Not much..? Like the last... Several weeks..?

ScotsmanFlyingscotsman Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Thank you for the update, first time back on the MP in ages, looks very nice. Question. In Stalingrad there was a set of statues in a park or roundabout, children playing around a crocodile, I've seen it on wartime film and a few stills, Will that eventually be mapped, does it still exist? i was thinking of using it as a landmark. Know its way down the list of feature, just wondered? Thank you
Requiem Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Neato, looking forward to flying normal sorties on the large scale map. Cheers guys!

II/JG17KaC_Wolfe Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 I'm so pleased with the game. Stalingrad looks great, the dogfights in multiplayer are superb. Hell ! I even like the gaming community who play this game. Thanks developers for all the effort you are putting into this project - you deserve success.
71st_AH_Hooves Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Im just bummed that the full hardcore servers are still running Lapino at all. Currently waiting an HOUR to re join MP on the Stalingrad map, if it even is really rotating. which I dont think it is.

Dave Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 (edited) This is going to sound like a bit of a whinge, but where is the value in or loyalty to the people who plonked down their cash a year ago when every Johnny-come-lately is "rewarded" with founder status without ever having taken any risk, put their money where their mouth was or actually supported a fledgling development? Just sayin' Now that's off my chest, nice job on the game thus far. When can I resume using my 3 screen rig? I can't really get into the game since the update a month or so ago which reduced my visual experience to looking through a porthole onto the world. Edited June 21, 2014 by Dave 9
FuriousMeow Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 (edited) Founder status matters little to me, I've been enjoying this far longer than "johnny come lately." I get what you're saying though Dave. People who pre-ordered, and I mean pre-ordered like before the game could even be downloaded and put money into a product that didn't exist at the time, should definitely get something above everyone else that purchased when the product was playable (regardless of its state) because they trusted the developers enough to purchase early and then spread the word about how great it was while those who paid after the software could be played only "founded" because the true founders tested and spread the information because they believed in the developers. I don't think it should be much, but those who purchased first are truly the biggest reason most that have purchased after the title was playable actually purchased "early" due to word of mouth, play testing, and reporting bugs to get it to where it is today that more and more people are purchasing prior to official release. I know it was $5 cheaper when we purchased, but also we should have been the only ones with the founders label since that was promised to the original purchasers because we truly were the founders. At this point, I saved $5 over the late founders but they still aren't founders in the truest since of the word. The people who truly pre-ordered, before there was a downloadable product were the first to the gold in the mountain. We found the gold. The rest came when we pointed them to the gold, but they didn't find it. So extending the founders tag to everyone who purchased after the gold was unearthed really doesn't make sense in the sense they didn't "found" anything, they just waited along the river banks further downstream until it found them. I could understand you(and I truly respect what you said guys) but here 's my point: -I buy the game a while ago, was in February(I think) and I didn't buy it before due to I didn't know about his existence on the market. I could buy it from the beginning but the bigger problem I see on those games is the lack of information or the dificultie to show that kind of products on the market. If you are not close to ROF maybe you didn't know about the title. I was looking on Steam for a game like this and find WT. I installed and didn't survive more than 5 min on my rig. Then I search on internet and find BOS. I buy the game the next day after checking the forums and get an aprox idea. After that I wrote to one guy on the forums about ROF, about how to purchase the game, which platform and content to purchase. Its been a month since I own ROF and I bought all the available content, even the Handriot preorder. Its an amazing game an excellent sim that again was unknown for me and I can guess that I'm not the only one. What I see about that founder bandage is that developers show and valorate the users that bought a game on early access and give them a reward. Anyways you still had those exclusive skins that I can guarantie you that I will miss. Sorry for my grammar, I had no time to correct the text...my wife is chasing me Best regards, Peter
fergal69 Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 With regard to the statement; Meanwhile we decided to give you a rather small and symbolic, but still important gift: Founder status along with golden and silver bars will be presented to anyone who buys the game before the launch in September 2014. You’re the most loyal community that our project has, so we just can’t overlook your heartfelt belief in the game and your participation in development. Does this mean I have to re-purchase BoS or is this for new purchasor's of BOF?
Brano Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 This is going to sound like a bit of a whinge, but where is the value in or loyalty to the people who plonked down their cash a year ago when every Johnny-come-lately is "rewarded" with founder status without ever having taken any risk, put their money where their mouth was or actually supported a fledgling development? +1 It is like giving founding colony status to all 50+ US states. 2
fergal69 Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 But you already have your gold bar. At least, I can see one on your profile. Thanks for your reply - It's what I thought - must be the way they worded the Developer Diary that led to to think that had to re-purchase.
Feathered_IV Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Just managed to catch the end of an MP mission that uses the Stalingrad map. I was really looking forward to it, but the mission design is so bland that I do not want to do it again. It's great that you are very efficient and focused on achieving the development goals you set for yourself. I must ask that you please consider the importance of the gameplay experience and how central it is to the success of your game. 1

Stray Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 "Adding FW 190 to early access would have been dull and even boring for you." This is a golden thought, really. And it goes great along with "we're ( obviously ) too stupid to use Full Mission Builder". I don't get it. I bought a cat in a bag for a hundred bucks, because I was promised that if my PC can handle RoF, it's capable of running BoS. Later it appeared it's not capable of doing it, so I had to rebuilt my machine completely. Processor, graphic card, ram, motherboard. That was the first bomb. Anxiuosly waited for news about promised FMB sometime in near future. Second bomb: skinning will be an issue. Third bomb: university degree education and a decade in skinning and mission building for various project as a hobby - I am surely too dumb as the rest of the flying community to do that. Now this lovely nuke. FW190, the reason for many people to cash out extra for the "founder and supporter" status - and the Development team states releasing it will be too dull... This is beyond belief. Sure it will be too dull! We have only one fighter in two variants, variety is surely not needed! Too dull, yes! Well done indeed, or just a badly expressed joke? Time to withdraw my suport for this title. It was less and less of it from the first time "alpha" was available -it slowly melted like the snow at the end of winter. Now it's gone completely. Good luck with the development, I see it's going to a great place. Time to contact 1C directly DELETED UNNECESSARY JIBE AT DEVS.. Bravo. 3
LLv34_Flanker Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 S! Propably a joke that did not translate well. I can wait for thee Fw190A-3 a bit longer if it means it will be more polished.
DD_Arthur Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 @Stray, you need to understand what irony is in the context of Zaks post. Or develop some sort of sense of humour.

So basically you : - Blame the dev team for you're shitty computer and choice. - I'm sorry for your Hellokitty skin. - Now I quite like that bit "I am surely too dumb as the rest of the flying community", Your university degree education and a decade in skinning doesn't prove you're dumb, insulting a whole community does. Well done sir. - FW190 is the main reason cash out extra? Lol. Now, I don't believe that the dev team didn't give us the FW190 because it would have been dull, but to avoid people like you complaining about its unfinished state. I hope you get a refund and that we'll never see you again. Just my 2c. Edited June 21, 2014 by FlatSpinMan 1

Calm down man, it's a joke. We'll get it when it's ready, no need to worry. Look at it this way... How long have we been waiting for the Fw190 in DCS? like 2 years now? With almost no updates at all during it's development. At least here we have a selection of other amazing warbirds to fly in the meantime. In DCS we are stuck with only that pitiful pony and nothing else. We are still going to be getting our beautiful Fw190 A3 here before Dora in DCS, I can live with that!
