PatrickAWlson Posted June 14, 2021 Posted June 14, 2021 (edited) I just added the ability to generate some missions for AAA trucks in PWCG. Thought I would post that here if there are any GAZ owners out there looking for some new missions. The missions are called iconic missions in PWCG. Although the basics are the same, each mission turns out differently every time it is generated. Just added the ability to select any appropriate TC tank as well. Gambit21 Posted June 14, 2021 Posted June 14, 2021 (edited) Nice to hear Patrick. They did (and are doing) a stellar job with these vehicles. Glad you’ve included them. ?? Edited June 14, 2021 by Gambit21 1

Same here, however, the trucks do offer something a little different for the player so that is good enough reason to have them available and any chance provided to use them is most welcome, after all most of us have been trying to fly and shoot properly for the last twenty years or so these are something new to try and master. Take care and be safe. Wishing you all the very best, Pete. 2
ShamrockOneFive Posted June 14, 2021 Posted June 14, 2021 That's really cool Pat! Going to have to check this out.
PatrickAWlson Posted June 15, 2021 Author Posted June 15, 2021 Now you can pick the AA trucks or any appropriate (was in service at the time of the battle) tank. I cheated on the KV1 to and dated that back to 1941 even though it's the 1943 version so Russian players can crew a heavy tank. Started by dropping myself in a Tiger to oppose the Kerch landings. Blew up the light tanks but actually got crippled by return fire from the landing craft. Honestly Mk. III would be much more competitive, but I wasn't in the mood for competitive. Just wanted to blow stuff up. 1 1

It does take some practice. It's a different type of gunnery compared to flying fighters. Obviously, I guess. Much more akin to manning a bomber turret or guns. While I'll never claim to be a crack shot, I used to be rather successful pheasant hunting and other upland birds. I kind of get the same feel manning the AAA truck. The biggest problem with the Russian 25mm shells for me is that its range seems rather limited. The German bombers are fairly easy to hit during the quick missions but they obligingly fly over at lower altitudes. Another thousand meters higher and we'd never touch them. Getting lead on 109s, 110s and 190s is tough but very rewarding when you do take one down. For the most part I only use the HE shells which do some devastating damage when they connect. My hope is this experiment (if it is that) with ground vehicles is deemed profitable so that we might get more later war equipment with larger armament packages to pop away with. The first release has been much fun for me to play with. I'd recommend them to anyone.
PatrickAWlson Posted June 19, 2021 Author Posted June 19, 2021 @Rjel One thing about the PWCG missions is that the bombers are not created as targets for the convenience of the AA gunners. The missions are the same as any other PWCG mission, which means that enemy planes are going about their business. The planes pathing is such that their business brings them closer to you, but not straight at you at 500 meters. Still, they are fun. If you can catch tanks unaware you can do them harm. 1
