The poor little wild cat I introduced here in the thread on January 16 didn't make it. ?

 

He recovered good in the first weeks from the tumor surgery and despite his other illnesses became very active inside the house and was accepted by the other two cats (who knew him for nearly four years, of course, as they all met together on the outside). He learned the cat flap soon and started walks in the garden, but preferred to stay in the warmth of the house. 

 

Then in February he began to eat less and less. Another blood picture told that he had developed kidney insufficiency. Last week he was three days at the vet from 9 to 6 for infusion to stabilize the kidneys, but he never started eating on his own again, I had to put astronaut food into his mouth to keep him alive. He also stopped grooming.

 

Today I put him a last time to the vet and brought him home without any treatment. And at noon the veterinarian came to my house to send him on his last journey.

 

RIP, Lucky!  See You at the other side of the rainbow.

So sad. But you made his last months worth of living and helped his gentle soul to change dimension smoothly. His soul will remember you and I hand you virtual medal.

Really sorry to hear this news MiG.

I've been there myself with a little darling who was in a very bad way.

We nursed her back to seemingly decent health, but after a couple of years she started having fits again, and we lost her.

It's hard to explain, but there's always something extra special about kitty's who've had it tough - you want to do everything for them.

I'm guessing you know what I mean.

 

Rest easy Lucky, no more suffering.

Catio was a scene of swift hunting last night. Sumu aka Mr Brainfreeze darted out and moments later came in with his prey. Growling, having fur raised and a  spoofy tail kept other cats away while showing off his kill. His second kill already. Have to admire how effective hunters cats are. No photos taken. But perpetrator in pic below asking innocently for treats ?

I have also finally discovered the way to protect myself while engaging in play. Welding leg protectors. It's hard living with a semi- feral.

This post just proves, the evolution works. As human beings invented cardboard boxes, cats are adapting and turning square.

I must have the only cat in the world that has zero interest in boxes. My previous cats would jump into any box that came in the house, but my current cat has never voluntarily gotten into a box.

My cat also has zero interest in boxes, I have a few around the apartment right now and he doesn't care. He loves the laundry basket though...

Welcome to the forum! They have clearly been studying from very old photographs, how royals need to pose in pics.
