Kappone Posted May 28, 2021 Posted May 28, 2021 (edited) Airfields Reference tool: https://www.il2art.altervista.org/index.html Hi guys! Started this project as a joke some days ago, I'm interested in frontend developing and inspired by the work of HR_zal I've build this site, making some improvement and updating maps and photos. So far maps usable: Stalingrad, Lapino, Novosovolniki , Moscow, Velikie Luki, Kuban and Rheinland ; For these regions you can have a sheet containing every useful information of every airifiled: Location Elevation Heading, Elevation and length of the runways Aerial photos of the strips ( Interchangeable summer / winter view ) Map of the area around the airfield, useful to plan the approach There is a lot of work behind the scene, screenshots and getting info of the various airfields, recreating maps, place runways numbers and so on ... So its a work in progress, but I thought maybe should be useful to the community of il2sturmovik. Now some screens, there are airfields sheets with aerial view of the runway ( switchable form winter/summer view), maps of the area with clickable airports, and all useful airfields references. Tried to apply an appropriate look in a il2GB style, hope this will not be a problem for Jason and co. , as I said the project was born to be personal and offline. Hope this could be useful... Bye bye Edited June 27, 2021 by Kappone 11 9 3
Kappone Posted June 6, 2021 Author Posted June 6, 2021 Two other maps available, Kuban and Rheinland, full of airfields references and runway data. Only general maps links are not available, i'm workin' on it but the priority remains the completation of others maps data. 1
Nadelbaum Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 @KapponeThis is an amazingly useful "tool", many thanks for creating it and updating it gradually! 1
Kappone Posted June 7, 2021 Author Posted June 7, 2021 Thank you kindly boys! Time spent in cut/copy/resize/ and editing images is paying off. Now available Novosovolniki , and Moscow is right around the corner... 1
Kappone Posted June 8, 2021 Author Posted June 8, 2021 Hi, Moscow, as usual, it's not going to be an easy conquest! However I've resized and made more readable the area maps of every airfield in Rheinland. 1 1
Kappone Posted June 9, 2021 Author Posted June 9, 2021 And now also Moscow online! Next step ... Stalingrad! 89 airfields ( more or less ) ? 2
Nadelbaum Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 The speed of your updates is... outstanding. Kudos!
Kappone Posted June 15, 2021 Author Posted June 15, 2021 Okay boys another step forward, now online Stalingrad area, 90 airfields are a lot of data to elaborate, all the airfields aerial views are NOT available yet, I'm working on taking all invernal/summer pictures. There are all aerial maps anyway. Bye bye! 1
Kappone Posted June 27, 2021 Author Posted June 27, 2021 Yes Yes Yes !!! also Stalingrad area completed, now every region listed has been fully implemented. When there will be some discount I'll buy also Normandy and will add new airfields data... Let me know if there is something weird and I'll try to fix it ! 1 1
HotPursuit Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 Hi Kappone, Thanks for this tool. You might want to check out the link for Morozovskiy West airfield on the Stalingrad map. It appears to be broken.

I mean, how do you/we know the real name of an airfield? I've based my choose on what I read on the maps of the game, or more precisely on the maps of the editor of the game. In the stalingrad map no names are written besides the airfields and I've choosen to keep the name of the nearest town/village. In the Rehinland map every airfield has it's own name. So probably I have choosen the wrong name... I'm doing some research now and .. ehm ... yes, probably the real name was Tormosin ( https://tacticalairwar.com/airfields.php?map=Stalingrad_Center&name=Tormosin ) Forgive me but the Stalingrad map is a huge one...
