KoN_ Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 Ok so there is a sale on and I'm thinking about it , But I know there are bugs with Tank-Crew have or are the Devs still on top of things and communicate with the community about bugs and fixes . Before I buy into a product
Carl_infar Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 Imo its very good product and that's coming from a plane guy. But if you are one of those constantly complaining , negative, grumpy persons who will cry a river on forums, each time they die and blame the whole Universe for it, than dont buy xD . Just joking of course. 1

Goffik Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 I've just bought it. It's proving a bit of a pain to get the controls set up, as I'm having to work out what I actually need and what can be ignored. (VR user, so can't use keyboard.) Also can't move machine guns for some strange reason, as they're not covered by the turret movement controls apparently. Taking control of one makes it point in the direction I'm looking when I press the button, but that's where it stays. ? However, the immersion is certainly there in VR so I think I'm going to enjoy it once I have it set up comfortably. Farm houses are my only victims so far, but I'll be trying something a little more lethal soon. ? 1

Before I buy into a product If you are interested in WWII armored battles, then Tank Crew is a solid hit especially on sale. I have seen a lot of bugs/community concerns over the last year that have been resolved by the Dev team, but there are still some outstanding issues that seem to be taking more time. 1
Guest deleted@188321 Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 personally, i'm underwhelmed by tank crew and the bugs it has as well as the sterile ground environment. I always go back to Steel Fury which is like $4 on Steam or something
ShampooX Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 (edited) It's the best tank sim available right now - at least on the Finnish online server & even Advance and Secure has really come on with stats and stuff- so what else would you buy? Edited May 27, 2021 by Shampoo_Actual more color
SCG_judgedeath3 Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 Compared to 2 years ago where all tanks had almost HP gauges and much more buggy and unkillable T-34s if you used the reverse trick, to today its night and day. OK there are flaws like bugs and not always accurate armour and shell simulation but its getting there and no other game offers these big maps and al the options for server makers and mission makers, out there and in the right server or group of people its fantastic. IF you like tanks and ww2 and want to fly and tank and not play arcade like tank games like world of tanks, then this is worth getting, true simulator game, it wont hold your hand and show where the enemy is or where they are shoting from or what killed you, you just have to get good Best tanking experiences of any game I have in this game and with a semi military group like SCG where we are a unit who work together and play very historical missions together or against eachothers, its amazing. 1

It looks like it is all scripted missions, but they do look decent from the videos. But given its age, the graphics and models are obviously way below Tank Crew standards. And with the included mission editor of Tank Crew, you could actually build something similar to the missions included in Steel Fury if you were so inclined. The one area I think Tank Crew could be improved is the sound and graphic effects of explosions for both ground and vehicle hits. If you compare what a shell explosion looks like in something like PostScriptum, or Gunner Heat PC to what we have in Tank Crew, there is room for improvement. But given that @KoN_ already knows the IL2 series, I have no problems recommending Tank Crew as a very solid WWII armor simulator even with its current issues.

There's always one with sod all sense of humour looking for any excuse to rage... ? And just to be clear, there is a mature, civil, constructive way to make a genuine complaint when you're unhappy about a product... and a juvenile, immature, self-entitled, throwing-toys-out-of-the-pram way. The joke was very likely aimed at the latter. Just to be clear. Edited May 27, 2021 by Goffik 1

The graphics aren't as good but it makes up for it in significantly better, less hollow gameplay. That's just my opinion. The mission editor can't deliver on SF as it lacks the assets - most importantly infantry. I've participated with online squadrons in TC - I know what those experiences deliver and what they don't. They're great but ultimately lacking in assets and hampered by engine limitations. I think Steel Gear: Stalingrad is truly the next Steel Beasts but it's development is a way out. TC models are very neat, the gameplay is largely accessible, some issues in the DM are troubling, the invisible trees are unacceptable and overall it doesn't scratch every part of the itch I have for tank gameplay. Yeah I have seen the Steel Gear thing before. The only problem I see at the moment is that the entire project is being tackled by just one person. He really needs to bring some more talent on board to get it going. But what he has done so far is pretty impressive. It reminds me of Gunner Heat PC. Same concept, but post cold war stuff. The main developer now has 6 other guys with him, and it is really impressive to see what they have done. Yeah regarding Steel Fury, you peaked my interest, and I have watched more than a dozen youtubes since we last communicated here, and I really get what you are saying. The game play is surprisingly interesting. I say surprisingly because of its age only. I don't know how I never heard about it before. I am actually considering picking it up on the next Steam sale. I figure for $5, can't go wrong really, even if it is just to try it out. Cheers. 12 hours ago, KoN_ said: I have Steel Beast PE Pro and I had Tiger Tank plus Steel Fury and alike . Edit . Irishratticus72 Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Bought it on sale at the weekend, have put about 15 hours into it over three days, especially the player made campaigns, loving it, the difficulty curve is perfect, I've gone from slugging it out with panzer IVs in my KV to using terrain, team work, and flanking manoeuvres to full effect. It was a trial and error process with regard to setting up my hotas at first, but now I've got it to where I want it. Having fun. 1
VilsonFarias Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Same here! I bought it on sale during the weekend and I just love it. It's like having two games into one. I have a completely different experience perspective when I'm inside a tank and see the aircraft attacking the enemy (or myself if I'm unlucky). The Prokhorovka map is very well done. Destructive houses and objetcs are also great. I really hope delevopers don't forget to add some areas like that to the new Normandy maps. I'd love to see some tanks fighting in the Boccages. Maybe they can even update some existing maps in the future. Looking forward to driving other models a TC2 1

Badger343rd Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 yeah, it was worth the 40 bucks, especially when you use voice attack too order the tank movements. Would I have paid more for it...no. If I had paid full price, I would expect alot more content and refinement.
moustache Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 it is above all the (free) content of the community that makes the game interesting ... because $ 40 for the basic Tank Crew, with his limitations and bugs, well ...
M3Grant Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 The part I did not expect when I first started playing Tanks is that it would be a horror game. You've just reached the objective and suddenly you explode, I really enjoy playing but it can really be scary sometimes.
WatRed511 Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Tank crew is alot of fun. There are several well made campaigns and missions thanks to the community. Hopefully we will see more tanks and expanding on what is there..but guess that depends on overall sales. Nothing more satisfying (in the game that is) then blowing a turret off an enemy tank.
