When I have a team available that is capable and willing to make it we will.

I take that as a promice, but after 9 years in here, I always knew, it one day would be flyable once it came as AI

Amazing news. As usually I will buy them all!

Now that both sides have their transport aircraft, we need recon aircraft. :)

And getting all new WWI kites that weren't part of RoF is absolutely awesome!!!

2016 July 28 First announcement of the flyable Tante Ju with screens ??

"By the way, we're working on new aircraft and features we'll tell you about a bit later. Here are a few WIP screenshots for now"

https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/168-developer-diary/?do=findComment&comment=373223

2021 June 26 First announcement of the flyable C47A and Li2 with my favorite quote "The Ju52 has been a good seller for us and a unique experience for fans of IL-2"

What an outstanding victory for people who love new unique gameplay never seen in ANY combat simulator! This is innovation and it is so scarce in the game industry nowadays!

5 years later, I am so happy that we know we will get the long awaited counterpart for the Junkers 52!

during those 5 years I feared we would never get it... but as usual this team is the best! We need to be patient, they really listen to us!

Instant buy for me of course and I will update the transport topic soon! https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/60780-junkers-52-tante-ju-lisunov-li2c47-%E2%9D%A4%EF%B8%8Ffan-club-help/

To Jason , Ugra media team, Il2 team , I can't thank enough .

Please listen to all my gratitude for spoiling us so much with something no dev and producer ever has done before with transports, U2, tanks , AA vehicle gameplay!

As a token of gratitude , I will preorder BoN and FC vol2 despites I am not interested on theses addon as I prefer early/mid world war 2 era.

And no, I am not rich by any means, just so happy to have transports and new gameplay in my favorite combat simulator.

I still could swear a cargo truck would sell also :P

Instant buy for me ! A cargo/supply truck for resupply and/or repair would be fantastic and bring interesting gameplay!

Snipe and the SS D IV - highly unexpected and extremely exciting. I will also naturally pick up the C-47 and Li-2 to support you guys.

I'm in. Nice choice of additions. I am making a personal note of the B25 promise. That would be an excellent addition, just hope it doesn'take 5 years to materialize.

A couple of years ago I would have been horrified at the thought of having some of those, but now that we have some of the high power planesets decently covered, those planes sound a lot more appealing.

Two new WW1 planes: that is very encouraging for lovers of the old crates. Now we can have our rotary handling characteristics debates all over again.

Very nice surprise... now off to the shop.

Thank you for the C-47!

Excited to fly it,

Worked in the north for years and it was a C-47 that brought in all of out goods a couple times a week.

Loved watching it come in to land.

Also one in the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum which (lucky me) is a ten minute drive from where I live (so also get to watch a Lancaster fly over my place during the summers).

Addendum to above re: Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum C_47:

"The Museum's Dakota was built for the USAAF and was delivered to the Royal Air Force in February 1944 as FZ692 and the Royal Canadian Air Force 437 Squadron in September 1944. It was later renumbered as 12945 as part of the Canadian Armed Forces where it served with No. 424 Squadron for Search & Rescue at CFB Trenton. It performed JATO ignition in flight at the 1970 Canadian National Exhibition Air Show on the Toronto waterfront.

After it was struck off strength by the Canadian Armed Forces in 1973, the aircraft ended up with Environment Canada, where it was used for mineral and environmental surveys. C-GRSB was donated to the Museum in May 2014.

FZ692 has been restored to the paint scheme it would have worn at the end of World War II with 437 Squadron RCAF. FZ692 flew 208 operational trips with 437 Squadron and 16 with 233 Squadron for a total of 224. It ended up flying hundreds of individual legs between airfields in Europe. FZ692 participated in two major airborne operations, Normandy and the Rhine Crossing. It carried 298 casualties to medical aid and repatriated 456 prisoners of war. It carried over 5,100 passengers to destinations around Europe and carried over two hundred tons of freight (414,368 lbs)".

Nice looking model, you have my money, at least this one will see some action....no chance of a Horsa? .....no rush..... no pressure.....kinda had a lot of them in Normandy.....Hint

I was thinking about towing gliders with this thing as well today

I want this aircraft. My first ever aircraft flight was over central Texas to visit grandmother in the 1950s. My last Goony Bird ride was in a Belgian war surplus C47 flown by Air Zaire from Kensasha to the Atlantic coast in the 1970s. This is one of the few WWII aircraft with which I have  a personal connection!

I remember seeing them around the DEW Line quite often even up to the early 90s. We still use a few of them...they've just been upgraded lol.

This was taking delivery of a "new" BT-67 back in 2017.

I imagine the C47 will be the first plane to get me into non combat flying. Will be doing some long distance flights, so I support the Pan Am skin request. Will get the Li-2 a little later. Looks like no reason not to get the Ju52 anymore.

Love these random collector planes.......Great news to see Great Battles continuing into the future. Pre-ordered my C-47, waiting patiently to pre-order my Li2 and B-25.

What about a Corsair?...they did operate in the North Atlantic

Seeing there is no Pacific or other theater coming in the near future ........ would be really nice if devs would consider releasing a few out of place (fantasy) planes eg   La7/9, Dornier , Zero, Hellcat, Corsair,  Meteor, Me/BF110 (variants/addons like twin 30mm), i15, Su2, p61 (oooooooooo yeah!!), Beaufighter.

My mind is wandering but thinking about it now there is still so much they can do in the Europe and USSR theaters.

The WW1 aircraft + yesterday's announced collector vehicles are made by Ugra Media while the tanks and AA vehicles are made by DigitalForms.

Once the Sd.Kfz. 10/5 Flak 38 is finished we might see new collector vehicles for Tank Crew if not Tank Crew 2.

Why Snipe is not available for preorder?

I preordered this reluctantly.  It would be more attractive to me as an actual civilian DC-3.  But I want a blue plane out of this team next.  Brewster, Grumman, Chance-Vought, anything along that line will do.  I don't care about flight decks and I don't care about historicity.  One stinking blue plane and I will let it go!

Awesome! Have been waiting for C-47 / Li-2 ... well since Ju-52 :) ... Going to buy after I submit this message.

As a server operator, a small (but huge to us) quality of life improvement request to @Jason_Williams
Please make the jumping paratroopers give out log entries that can be tracked back to the plane that dropped them. Currently the paratrooper's AType:18 log line PARENTID points to nothing. Another, when I'm at it: Give us a log line when the paratrooper lands (with status dead/alive, and coordinates). Currently we have to use triggers to detect the landings, and with those we cannot credit the pilot that made the drop.

This!!

As iuse IL2 Tanl Crew and Flying Circcus .. i've each day a game to use with my friends not too young also ..
I'm impatient to see map for Flying Circus III as i'm living in  Champagne neat tje place of the very forst dog fight of WW1  i'm impatient to see hos is represented my region  i know each place around Reims as i was born in the city :)

Why Snipe is not available for preorder?

Read the announcement.

Quote

Work on the C-47 cockpit has already begun so we have decided to open Pre-Orders today as is our tradition for new Collector Planes in development.

Quote

We will offer the Li-2 for Pre-Order as soon as work has officially begun in earnest.

Quote

Pre-orders will be available once the Snipe has entered production.

Quote

When work begins, we will give you a change to pre-order the SS.DIV.
