Wonderful! Just landed after the first mission, but can't find where to stop the plane to finish the mission.
Edit: My mistake. I'm afraid I landed in the wrong airport.

Yeah, as tovarisch major said you should land at Velikie Luki a/f  in the first mission. 

Pay attention! Each time conditions to complete mission change. Pretty often you got no idea where you should end the mission even after initial takeoff. The campaign itself never ment to be "average il-2 campaign". You might think "there is a mistake in the mission"... Most likely it's not. It was created like that to force player think and act out of box. For the sake of player's pleasure.

Now I'm on mission 5 and perhaps I am stuck. Looking for Nazimovo station in the map and no sign of it and I don't want to use googlemaps cause in 1941 there was not googlemaps. When the pilot ask for a god sigh I see a smoke in the nearest station in the west, but there's no othe message. I'm not sure to ask for help or just a hint, because the reward is greater if you can find the solution for yourself, but is there anybody with the same situation? ? 

Now I'm stuck on mission 5. Don't read if you havent played it. I don't want to spoil.

Thank you Samson for yet another great campaign! I love the elements of surprise and the humor that you incorporate to them.

 

I just finished mission 3. Have to say that it was indeed a very long day and I almost had a heart attack around the middle of the mission. Can't wait to continue! Keep up the good work.

You should take of at southward direction (as the a/f strip suggests) and after takeoff stay alert. Somewhat at 10-11 o'clock you'll see a certain sign. Go for it!

 

Here is the scan of an actual war-time map with 22th Army headquarter mark on it. See the banner with "22" lettering? And the reading on the map says "ст. Назимово"

I think I found the solution right now. I'm following the "divine sign". I'll try to achieve the mission without looking the hints you say, but thank you very much. If I got stuck after following the divine sign I'll look the hints. It wasn't so much difficult I hope. Just had to pay some attention. Thanks again!

I didn't want to use googlemaps because in 1941 there was no internet and to represent the fact that the pilot doesn't know where it is. XD

Well ..... 'whispering'   ( I feel dummy , it's not translated to Danish .... First I fly 350 north , but no success .... Then I took the road left west of vikky , met 2 cars but not the colums and once again out of map .... 

Talk of church and divine ... ?? )

Well. First mission can be a bit frustrating depending of the luck that you have, but I loved it. Have a bit more patience. You are in the good zone. Look at the roads west of the city for more lights.

I just finished the campaign and I absolutelly loved it.

I made everything right in the first misson. I have landed on Velkie Luki a/f but the mission was uneccsessful. Can you help?

Sure! For the mission to count complete player should land at Velikie Luki but(!) only after successful landing and takeoff at certain car column (to deliver the radio set).

It doesn´t work. After i landed by the car column and the I get the message "It´s done back to Velikie Luki". Than i landed there but the mission is not complete.

Exactly the same for me. After (a couple) of crashes in the middle of nowhere, trying to hand over the radio, I succeeded, went back over to VL base (as instructed) and got 'Mission Failed' Even tried taxiing all over the airbase but sadly all to no avail... ?

@samson Did it three times now. Dropped off the radio and then told to land at Velikie Luki. Did just that and here's the result... please help!! Landed in both directions, Landing Lights on AND off in different Missions. Still no joy!! PLEASE help?...

Same here...

 

Got the message that the radio was transferred successfully after landing on the road in front of the convoy and shutting down the engine (officially - a service area).  Got the message to return to Velikie Luki airfield.  Landed at Velikie Luki airfield.  Taxied to the parking area next to the tower with the other aircraft.  Shut down.  Mission failed.

it would be great if this could be updated to the 4.701 patch since the update broke all the user-made campaigns.

Just delete all the .msnbin files from each mission, and resave 'all missions in folder' using the Mission Editor tool.  It's a lengthy procedure but you can do all 3rd party campaigns at once whilst you go off and drink a cup of coffee!

The archive with the campaign was updated 10.12.2021 and now includes *.mission files (previous one contained only *.msnbin files. At that time the version was up to date. And now anyone can resave and update the campaign.

Samson, just wanted to say thanks for the most unique and fun campaign I've ever experienced!  I just got VR a few weeks ago too, which makes this experience unlike anything I've ever done, and I'm only on mission #2!  I'm definitely going to play through every campaign with your name on it. 

 

I've mostly just appreciated this game in multiplayer, but some of these user created campaigns are not something anyone should miss!  You mainly hear of MP people telling SP players that they need to experience MP, but I rarely see people trying to convince MP only players to experience these campaigns.

 

 

One question though- is there any way to read back through subtitles after they disappear?  With VR, unlike non-VR, if your looking to the side or behind you, you might miss the message before it disappears.

First of all - thnx a lot for your kind words!)
Then those subtitles... Unfortunatly I've failed to figure out the solution right now. Never knew about the way subtitles are visible in VR...  Though, all subtitles can be read in corresponding *.eng file. For the first mission it is 01.eng, for the second we got 02.eng and so on. Open with Notepad. Those files stored at Campaign's directory.

As for the other campaigns - good share of them are out of date, my guess. I'm revising "Allmost" and "Taman Bridgehead" this days, if you're interesting.

I've actually been playing both of those recently; I've done around 2-3 missions on each one, so I'd definitely be interested in an update.  Any estimate on time for those updates?

Thanks for the Campaign. I was looking for some love for U2, and I think this is it. 
I'm trying to get along with the missions, but after grinding a lot in first one, the second one got me following the leader across all the map, while practicing eternal climbing at stol velocity. He was trying to land at International Space Station, I guess.

After climbing above 1km I was already thinking "wtf this leader is doing flying so slow and so high when moving towards the frontline? We can be jumped by germans anytime." After 1h of flying, being way above clouds, we did. And my wing was ripped apart in a single pass.

Too bad I wasn't equipped with guns in the plane, because half the way to the moon I would have shot the leader down with pleasure. ?

I have added some tactical numbers and changed some skins when there is snow on the Allmost campaign (perhaps my favourite campaign alongside Silent Movie) missions if you are interested.

Hi, in the 3rd mission, when I stop my engine in Novosokolniki as the major demand, the aircraft go to the air and crash, pilot dead, mission fail.

 

Is it a bug ?

So there I was, 20-30 minutes in thinking "why would this mission maker make me do nothing but fly between one airfield and another with my wing mates."

We are almost at the airfield and we all pass into some cloud cover. As soon as I get through the cloud cover there are german fighters right in our face with no warning. Almost like a jumpscare, the mood changed in an instant! An intense round of evasion (I'm unarmed!) begins, the leader is blown out of the sky, my aircraft is severly damaged, and I barely make it to the airfield and complete the mission. Tbh, the boredom and mostly clear skies lulled me into a false sense of security and that security was shattered in a moment. Great moment, you really got me with that one. Looking forward to the rest of the campaign and trying out your others!

This one made me fly nap of the earth following roads. I enjoyed how it made me plan my route through the map instead of just taking off and going at a heading. It was so fun to fly feet off the ground through the trees, villages, and rivers of this beautiful map.

The surprise in the middle of the mission was great. I had to get the heck out of that airfield fast with gunfire and explosions all around. 

The constant threat of buzzing german attackers kept me on my toes.

I'm starting to really love this little plane!
