Reducing the world scale to 90% I finally have a 109 that feels "narrow".

Does the resulting image after modifying this new world scale parameter in SteamVR differ from just using the IPD +/- adjustments that are available in-game? I do notice some world scale issues in the game. For example, flying at lets say 2 km altitude feels more like 500 meters when looking directly down from the cockpit. I can see a similar issue already in the airplane hangar (main menu). In there, when you look towards the farther hangar door, the perceived height at which the ceiling metal beams  are definitely does not match what you perceive when you look at a metal beam directly above you. When you look up, the beam feels a lot closer (not as high) than you would think it should.

I am not sure what could be causing this. I am using Rift S with OpenComposite, but my squad mate has the same impression and he is using Reverb G2.

IL2:GB has already had a world scale modifier for some time. It seems not many people know about it. It only works in 3% increments though so SteamVR is a bit better.

I don't get any difference. Tried the FOV scale at 50% and world scale at extreme  - 1000%.

Restarted headset & application, no differences.

Tried these extremes so wouldn't fall into 'placebo'.

IL-2 is an older engine made compatible to VR. As a result, it doesn't fully dock to OpenVR, but the Devs made all the best they could do with the limits the engine possesses. It's a lot of manual work. Hence the world scale slider from SteamVR/OpenVR may have no actual effect, depending on headset. Best use the ingame IPD function - which may or may not work though on the Index due to canted lens design (5°), but should as it has hard-coded parallel projection, and/or only in limited scale on the Reverb G2 (canted at 0.2°), with the result on the G2 of getting a more blurry picture or one that "feels off".

Thank you, I played with the in-game IPD adjustment and it was not as comfortable.

I really like the SteamVR implementation, I did not know it was there. To me 95% or so is the sweet spot.

@hsthhsth, that is weird, I am also using the Index and it works immediately, no restart required.

@Jade_Monkey, how does the cockpit look like when you put it on the 50%?

50% would make the virtual pilot look larger relative to the cockpit while anything above 100 makes you feel like a child inside a huge cockpit.

I use Samsung Odyssey +, what% should I use from Steam VR? 95% 97% 100%, I have never gotten on a real plane, I do not know how to compare it, we do not have a 3d pilot that we can see to compare, greetings.
