IL2 keeps crashing in Steam VR

Can anyone help? My game keeps crashing in a game, normally when I am about to nail my opponent... So annoying, any ideas?

IL2 crashing, now that's a rare occurrence...

 

It's a bit too little info to be able to help you though. Does it crash to desktop, or something else? Do you get any error message? Multiplayer or singleplayer? Is there any specific plane or map it occurs with, or does it happen completely random? What's your rig (VR set, GPU, CPU, RAM, OS)?

Since yesterday cannot play IL2, it crashes when loading.

I re installed Windows mixed reality, Steam VR, and IL2 and nothing seems to fix this.

its a known issue with the new beta Steam WMR version 1.3.6 and Steam VR 1.7.8,

 

uninstall Steam VR, and Steam WMR VR, reinstall regular non beta version and it will work again.

it happens while playing the game and come up as saying i need to restart steam vr after i get a blank, black screen, any thoughts?

By the way, I've got the same Steam message, but somehow IL2 continues to work regardless. So you might try to just alt-tab back to IL2 and see if it works. if not, please follow the instructions by 71st_AH_Mastiff.

load of crap, nothing is working, ive spent a fortune on this game and would have expected better tech support form the publisher...

If it is steam that gives you problems than I think you should turn to them and ask what your problem is. And you should provide more info on your specs and settings so someone can be able to give some help. moreover this is a community of users and modders and not the developers support forum. You could sen a ticket to them through their homepage. Frustrated outbursts doesn´t get your problems solved.

It's likely not the publisher's fault - I had the same thing in the other sim until I disabled beta version of SteamVR.

I've started getting an issue as of this week where my GPU will crash.
So far it's happened twice, just as I'm being bounced by another plane.

Results in a black screen and my GPU fans jump straight up to 100%. I can still hear discord in the background, but I can't do anything to recover from the crash except restart.
The last restart I did, steam wanted me to reinstall IL2 GB even though it was already installed. 

I have to start doing some testing. From what I've read, it could be an issue with power delivery to my 2080ti. But I have a 1200w PSU. So it shouldn't be that.

@Baxter52 does your VRset stop working? It looks like that from your first post. If so check that the usbport isn´t turned off by windows to save power. You may need to go through all your usb port and turn off windows power management for them.
