Turret locking

The following is based on my experience in the T34 (new). I'm guessing the effects are similar in other turreted tanks, but haven't tested.

Before the update, for I don't know exactly how long, there has been this irritating behavior / bug, commander looks out of the open hatch, you see a target, close the hatch, jump into the gunsight position, and for no apparent reason the turret veers away to the left or right for a couple seconds, before you can convince it with mouse movement to veer back onto target. I got killed countless times because of this.

In the new version, instead of this getting fixed, there is now an additional behavior where suddenly, as you're trying to move the turret onto target, the movement freezes and 'turret locking' appears. You lose more seconds in which you probably get shot. Then it unlocks again.

If this happend while driving, I would suspect it to be a feature, but it also happens when the tank is stationary.

Also, my suspicion was that since in multiplayer, there is often a slow-motion kind of situation where the tank is almost unresponsive, this could be such a multiplayer-only effect. But I've seen it happen at least once in a quick mission as well.

this bug is found on all tanks ... I asked the question some time ago if an in-game solution existed, but it seems dead ... it seems to me that @TIGRE88 had asked the developers, but nothing ...

I assume you are referring to the new bug, or the new part of the bug, the freezing ('Turret locking').

Good to know it's not something exotic that just happens on my machine ?

The old bug, turret veering away sideways, yes it's depressing that it's existed for this long, and hasn't been fixed.

The new thing (or new at least as far as I know), since the new version has just come out, maybe there is some hope that it could get fixed...

Uhm... makes me suspect that perhaps the developers were attempting to fix the veering away situation and may have created the current locking problem. Coding can be fickle.

all the more annoying as the deviation is always present, at long distance or in close combat, it is very disabling ...

Oh there's something I forgot to mention in my description.

When you are already in the closed-hatch position, eye on the gunsight, and have been aiming the turret for a while, the 'turret locking' thing can also suddenly happen.

I just don't often sit around like that buttoned up, so this variant hasn't happened to me as often. But it shows that the two things aren't necessarily coupled.

I get the feeling that the turret locking thing happens exactly at the moment where I'm slewing my turret onto the enemy tank, but that's just psychology I guess.

Perhaps a Positional AI control is interfering with Player control. ?

This turret bug, and the damage model, are real passion killers in this game for me, it has got to the stage where if I hit an invisible object now, I alt tab out and go and do something else.

I figured out that the swinging turret was because the turret would  “hunt” for the white aiming circle when you closed down, but as for the locking turret ... well answers on a postcard please. ?

I tried to revive the subject in the "bug" session, but no answer for the moment ... I sometimes have the feeling that the tank part of the game is a little neglected, there are updates , but the fixes seem rare to me ... it worries me ...
