Guadalcanal Campaign

I have been reading a book on the Guadalcanal campaign and reading about the air war during the campaign made me think of how awesome it would be to have this as a campaign in IL2. A Guadalcanal campaign would be a good start into a pacific campaign because of how long it was, how most of the fighting occurred between land-based aircraft (although having carriers and being able to fight in the carrier battles would also be fun and there was overlap as US carrier airgroups were sometimes posted on Henderson field on the island) and the number of different aircraft involved especially on the US side, including some like the P-39 and P-38 which are already in IL2. Plus the campaign represents a time when the US and Japan were relatively even and combat with the zero vs wildcat would be quite the challenge for the player.

The number of different missions would make it a really interesting campaign to play like on the US side bombing enemy ground positions, attacking enemy convoys and warships, targeting supply dumps, escorting bombers, intercepting Japanese bombers and fighters, covering US ships, etc. and the Japanese side would have similarly interesting missions like the almost-daily bombing of Henderson field by Bettys, targeting convoys and warships as well, bombing ground troops, covering friendly ships, air superiority, etc. would make it a really fun and engaging campaign to play.

I know others have mentioned this as well and they have ideas for potential flyable planes so to just echo them planes like the Wildcat, SBD, P-39/P-400 (as maybe a fighter/ ground attack plane since it did both), P-38, Avenger, B-17 (?), Zero, Betty, and maybe even flying boats like the Pete, Jake, Catalina, etc. would make quite the unique experience.
