Is there a way to tell HSD that I've deleted a skin? Did some cleaning and now whenever I open HSD I'm prompted to "Update" a whole bunch of skins. I've tried clearing the queue but they always come back

HSD keeps track of the skins you've downloaded and will try to restore them every time it starts. Would have been better if you deleted the skins using HSD. Depending on how many skins are involved it may be easiest to just delete HSD.db and let HSD rescan your skins folder.

A buddy and I fly a lot of simple MP missions in IL2 on a private server. We like to have the same skins installed so that we each see what the other sees. Is there a way that we can easily share/communicate what skins we have downloaded via HSD? IE I pick a certain group of skins and after I install them I then send my buddy a config file or something that will tell his HSD to download the same group of skins for him?

If you really want to upload them now, then I would suggest uploading both as fictional and request them to be updated to the new category after the udpate.

We hit some difficulties out of our power and were required to make some necessary changes which has delayed the update quite a bit. Combined with an exam period for myself delayed it a bit longer. Not something we like but that's also part of development sadly. A new version is already in testing and we hope to release before the new year. No guarantees though.

C-47A Announcement

With the release of the C-47, the template and parts layout for the C-47 skins changed significantly. The old skins are therefore no longer useable and completely mismatch. 
I included the old and new layout images so you can see the difference.

• Silver skin (curtesy of szelljr) is the old skin
• Brown skin (2 files now) is a new skin

We have therefor decided that we will delete all C-47 skins off HSD!

We are sorry for all of you that put a lot of work into those skins. We look forward to your new and improved skins!

 

I made a back-up of the skin files, previews and text documents so if you want those back so you can re-upload a new skin using the same name/info/picture, you just need to contact me!

I'm late to respond, but deleting the .db file worked fine, it took a little bit to rescan, but once it was back up all I had to do was recheck the unrestricted skins option and change my filters back. 

 

Would it be possible to add a "rescan" option in the settings? Could save some time in the future, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who deletes skins manually

They haven't been added yet. Will do before the templates are released. They will appear under "Collector vehicles".

MAJOR HSD UPDATE!!!! Introducing the Account Function!

HSD V2.0.3.14 has been released

 

This update introduces the account function and the most basic form of the Edit tab. This allows you to easily upload skins, delete your own skins and reupload skins using the previous text information. 

The update took a lot of time and figuring out to make sure your accounts would remain safe and functional. It took a bit longer than expected but was totally worth it! 

 

Most noticeable features:

• Introduced the account function! Give Haluter a big thanks! He deserves it!
  • Instructions on how to make an account included
  • New account creation
  • Existing account validated creation (watch for capitalization)
  • Email/account verification
  • Log-in
  • Automatic log-in on restart
  • Automatic log-out if the automatic log-in fails
  • PW reset
  • Encrypted data storage
  • Account deletion option with email verification requirement
  • Your skin count is displayed
• Edit tab v1 released
  • Delete button to remove your own skins
  • Including warning
  • Reload skins list included
  • Other features will come later
• Added reupload “auto-fill-out” feature on the upload tab for easier reuploading of skins
• Added back-end images tools so we can change the preview background when you start HSD
• Added “Inspired” Skin type for skins that are historically inspired but didn’t exist irl
• Added backup function in the Options tab so you can make a backup of your downloaded skins
• Added report button for skins linked to our Discord

Hi, I accidentally uploaded my first skin to Historical, but my intention was to upload all of my squadron defaults to Generic. I'm trying to edit the Skin Type, but everything is grayed out and it appears I'm unable to edit anything. Am I doing something wrong? Cheers!

 

Edit: Never mind, I realized I could delete it myself and re upload, which is what I did. Edit seems to not be working however.

Those edit functions are greyed out as they are not implemented at all. They are planned for the next big update. Only skin deletion works.
So deletion and re-upload is now your best way to fix such issues.

Seems to be running fine for me. Can you PM me your HSD.log file. It is in the same folder as your HSD.exe file.

You can try deleting your HSD.db file. HSD will recreate it. Should be fast again after that.
Can you also send me your HSD.log in a PM. Then we can investigate the cause of the issue.

I have a problem uploading the second part of the Bf109G6AS skins (&1#1). HSD tells me that it is not in the expected format. Even with the extracted original skins (#1#1) it gives the error message.

Thanks for the report. I found the issue but it will require a larger update for HSD to fix.
HSD isn't set up to deal with the 1024 x 1024p file size (never happened before)
I suggest you upload it now without the &1#1 file. IL-2 GB will use the default one instead. After we update HSD, you can edit the skin to have it included.

Thank you for the quick reply.
Uploading as a single skin works, but it changes the skin name from skinname&1 to skinname1. Since I don't know whether you can also edit the skinnames later, you would have duplicate skins with different names that you would have to delete manually later. But I have found a solution. I have scaled up the &1#1 skin to 2048x2048. It's a bit overkill for the bomb holder, but it works for HSD and in the game.
With this I have the correct &1,&1#1 endings and it can be edited later without double names.

I think I'm not seeing all the skins that should be available.  For example, there are no I-16, no MiGs, only one person has Bf110 skins.

The last time I used this was about a year ago and I remember there were more skins then.

Hi all,

I recently downloaded Haluter Skin downloader for the first time, I downloaded desired skins and they resulted as "Owned" in the program page.

Despite this, the new skins are not present in the game, I can't see them, nor the files appeared in the related subfolders.

 

Anyone can help me? how to activate the skins after the download?

Make sure they downloaded to the actual skins folder. And that you actually downloaded them - ticking them in the list doesn't download them, it just selects them. Then you have to download via the specific button.

Hello Kurtz, i have the download path, in HSD, set to a "Skins" folder on my Desktop and insert them manually in the game. That´s not intended from HSD, but i like to put them in manually. Also You can see if the skin Downloaded correctly.

Haluter's is almost a perfect tool for me. Alas a lot of good skins i found are not uploaded there by the makers, and checking out personal favorites is a lot of work.

I could use a 'mark my favorites function'. So downloading to a manual folder seems an alternative.
