Guys,

I’ve just installed the game and am setting up controllers, but I’m having a hard time with assignments and axes ranges. I check the axes outside of the game (for example throttle), range is close to full range with some resolution loss at the extremes, but when I assign it in the game, it only goes between 0 and 45-ish percent.

Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks.

Do a axis calibration in WIndows Game Controllers (joy.cpl) or better with DView.

DView calibration.

And test in a Quick Mission in CUSTOM mod, with all AI engine "aids" turned off.

Thanks Sokol1. I will try Dview. I did do a calibration in windows and it didn’t seem to help last night.

Thank you, thank you, thank you @Sokol1

windows calibration kept showing normal range while it went no further than 50% in game. DIView did the trick. it showed the same range as it was being shown in game. easily adjusted and reset. thanks again

Guys a follow up question please.

I've bound a single axis to elevator trim, and stabilizer trim, and I made sure to move the axis the same order of directions for both key bindings. Now no matter what I do, I can’t change the trim behavior. When I rotate the axis “down” the trim applied is up, meaning the plane reacts as if I pulled on the flight stick, and when I rotate the axis “up”, elevator pitches up making the plane dive.

I’ve tried hitting “invert axis” button on both key bindings and it doesn’t seem to resolve the issue. What do you guys think I’m doing wrong?

Thanks!

Doh! I guess I didn’t hit “invert axis” on both of them. Re-assigned them and now it works as I expect it to.
