Finnish server crashing to desktop

Hi guys,

 

Never had any issues here at all until now - launching the game OK, join the Finnish server and get to the splash screen and immediate crash to desktop!

 

Nothing updated or changed my end...can log in to Combat Box no problem but usually play on Finnish

 

Is this a known issue? Is there a fix?

If others are able to join the server then a local fix you can try it to delete any of the old mission files from virtual pilots from your folder at \IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\data\Multiplayer\ . They'll get re-downloaded again the next time you join the server. I've occasionally had to do that with the old mission files from other servers.

Happened to me twice. The last time I know it was close to the end of the mission. Few minutes left. Probably the first time too because a new mission started a few minutes later I just don't know if it was normal rotation or force restart. So it's possible the server has issues handling last minute entries. If true, the upside is that you only need to wait a few minutes until the issue resolves itself.

Yeah, I tried to join Finnish last night, and both times, on the loading screen from the server list, my computer completely locked up. Couldn’t even close IL2 from task manager, because the mouse wouldn’t move.  Hope it doesn’t continue.
