RossMarBow Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 ok so i have 144hz monitor if i set ingame target to 144 i get flickering dimming which shouldn't happen because my frame rate is too high but it does but if i set my monitor to 120hz ingame 144 no flickering if i set monitor to 144hz ingame no limit (200fps+) no flickering so this game has some weird issue with amd freesync or something maybe just giving us a frame rate target slider would solve the issue? might just be my specific combination of hardware it effects maybe somethings wrong with my monitor but i can play other games at 144 with a 144 target and no flickering so idk its sporadic
RossMarBow Posted February 12, 2021 Author Posted February 12, 2021 (edited) Freesync https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-27gl650f-b-gaming-monitor graphics card 5700 xt pulse so now i'm running no frame rate limit in game and just using amd frame rate limit but that didn't help going to try a some other things Edited February 12, 2021 by brahguevara
1CGS -DED-Rapidus Posted February 12, 2021 1CGS Posted February 12, 2021 @brahguevara, try disabling freesync in the driver settings.
RossMarBow Posted February 14, 2021 Author Posted February 14, 2021 (edited) Ok will try it out I don't think it happens at all in replays I'm getting about 280 fps watching this replay now I'm confused though, shouldn't freesync lock the game to the screens fps, so I shouldn't have to set a limit or something? Only reason I've been running a limit was just cause I thought their wouldn't be a point in having a higher fps. Ok seems to stop the dimming happening on loading screens, when i move the fuel slider, and in game and I'm using a driver fps cap and enhanced sync now also, to get back the functionality working great so far thank you It now works when you change the amd setting from optimised to ON and the latest driver lets you set a fps cap Edited April 11, 2021 by brahguevara
