[MOD] Coniferous Trees for Rhineland Map

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

This copies over and integrates the coniferous trees from the Battle of Moscow map to the Rhineland map. Should help to make the map look a little bit more like the real thing. All four seasons get coniferous trees.

The MOD is best to be installed using JSGME. Is there a tutorial to use JSGME? - Mods - IL-2 Sturmovik Forum

Some impressions

Great work, this is a nice improvement.

There's something a little uncanny and off about the Bodenplatte (and thus Western Europe) map. It doesn't quite look like home...

Great work, thank you very much, really appreciated.

This adds a little more variety to the maps and so breaks up the scene, along with the texture mod it improves the overall visual appeal and is to be congratulated.;)

I think the downside to the map is its sheer size, from a makers point of view there are probably only so many tree and texture slots available, also too many objects can

make the whole thing unplayable but you show that there are things that can and do improve the overall look and feel.:drink2:

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.

So is it possible to make some kind of Rheinland community upgrade? There are re-textures, some projects that show screenshots of improved villages and cities, now these wonderful trees. But it would be super great if they could all be combined in a coherent mod.

I suggest using the coniferous trees with Pickskings Rheinland Texture MOD.

Install his MOD first and then the coniferous trees on top of that.

I'm usually pretty good at figuring out what the problem might be with a mod, but I can't for the life of me, get this to work.

I take the *data* file and drop it in MODS and then activate it in JSGME, correct? Or do I need to take out the individual files from data file in Mods and activate them individually in JSGME? Do I activate one at a time? I've tried different avenues of approach. I've a handful of mods activated which shouldn't mess with it because they're mods that get rid of the censorship only.

I've integrated both Rheinland Texture Mod and Coniferous, I've also tried each individually. Nothing works. I don't see those lovely Coniferous beauties anywhere.

Some kind help would be appreciated. ?

No. The data folder needs to be down another level.

Put it in a folder named 'Coniferous trees for Rhineland map' or something similar.

That was simply it, thank you, HotPursuit for the help. Working as expected, and I'll know what to do next time I get a mod with a *data* file. Take care! ?

I appreciate it, sevenless! Lovin' this mod! There's way...way too much deciduous flora than needs be, you balanced it out to some degree. Thank you. ?

These mods that really improve the visual should pave the way for the devs to integrate them as part of the standard product.

Let's hope that with BON the forests get the right mix of plants and trees also for BOBp.
