Murleen Posted January 31, 2021 Posted January 31, 2021 (edited) Creating a new thread so I can edit the first post. I've updated the pilot in cockpit mod for 5.003 - credit still to @LizLemon for the original idea. Murleen Posted February 1, 2021 Author Posted February 1, 2021 I added the early USAAF pilot models, and will have picked up any other pilot changes made by 1CGS since the previous version. 1 3
Gizmo03 Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 I tried the mod 2 years ago and now i would like to give it another try with the current version. I've never uninstalled the old version. I only disabled "mods" since this was the only mod i used. If i want to install the current version now do i need to unistall the older one? And if yes - how can i do that? Or can i just copy / paste the folders from the .rar file?
Murleen Posted February 18, 2021 Author Posted February 18, 2021 I recommend using JSGME to install/remove mods. Otherwise, you should be able to install the new version over the top. 1 1
Spinnetti Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 Love this mod.. Is there any way to rig the hands and feet so they follow the controls? (feet on pedals, RH on stick, LH on throttle for instance). I'd even be good to just have it work on my favorite few plane families.
=RS=rulezcz Posted March 21, 2021 Posted March 21, 2021 in A-20 the pilot is out of the cockpit. Am I doing something wrong ? Thankyou
Aliocha62Mordreddesurmia Posted March 30, 2021 Posted March 30, 2021 Thank you for your excellent mod which brings an additional immersion but being also a fan of Tank crew would it be possible to have the same thing for the tanks?

You could try swapping in the keyframe files from a different plane type if you can find one which is animated and has a close enough seating position. Dauntless Posted March 31, 2021 Posted March 31, 2021 Any way to just give us the pilots shadows in the cockpit? Just the shadows?
Murleen Posted April 1, 2021 Author Posted April 1, 2021 22 hours ago, Dauntless said: Any way to just give us the pilots shadows in the cockpit? Just the shadows? Yeah, if you replace the textures in the mod with fully transparent ones you should get invisible pilots who cast shadows 1

You could try swapping in the keyframe files from a different plane type if you can find one which is animated and has a close enough seating position. While flying the Ju-88 I noticed that at least in that aircraft, there is a fully animated 3D pilot model - it's just hidden if your head is in the right position. Lean far enough to the side in VR and the bombardier disappears instead. The pilot, in that case, has hands on the yoke and feet on the pedals, and they move. Would that, perhaps, be possible to remove those "disappearing zones"? I'm not sure every plane has the crew set up like this, but it seems the two-seaters do.
Murleen Posted April 11, 2021 Author Posted April 11, 2021 What this mod does is add a model used in the "disappearing zone" which has a transparent head (so you don't see bits of the inside of the pilot head). For those planes with animated pilot models (usually those with gunners in the same compartment), you'll then see the pilot's hands move with the controls.
-=[]=-little-Guardian Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 (edited) @Dauntless and @Murleen here is the "Pilots shadow only" version for JSGME of Murleens MOD https://mega.nz/file/L5YlxApI#VYex_3DhbFgTdk9_37Fc1ysIMGq8G_q_3EnxYaYB0Qo I had to add the straps of the parachutes for the various pilots, otherwise it's Murleens MOD but with transparent alphas. Hope the download works, haven't used MEGA before . . . greetings little Guardian Edited April 20, 2021 by -=[]=-little-Guardian miss-spelled 1 1 1
Benoitgg Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Hello there, I recently tried the "pilot in cockpit" mod by Murleen for VR (he did a great job !), but it looked bugged, and I didn't bother to correct it, so I deleted the files. The trouble is that since my pilot just vanished... Can't be seen from outside, and when I bail out, I just see a parachute with nothing under... Invisible man mod ! I use steam VR, I tried to repair the game with the dedicated option in Steam twice, but it didn't work. What can I do ?
Murleen Posted July 1, 2021 Author Posted July 1, 2021 Did you install using JSGME, or did you install manually? If the latter, it sounds like you might not have removed all the mod files. Check that you've deleted all the files which are in the zip file.
TheSNAFU Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 Does this still work with the latest updates?

Pikestance Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 Ok, I added the mod, but it blocks the instruments (esp on the left side). So, I wanted to get rid of it. I am not sure how to do it. No mods, e disappears, with mod, he reappears. I removed every mod except for two.
TheSNAFU Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 I tried this for the first time in vr flying the p51D. The pilot appears too small. His feet dont reach the floor or pedals and the hands dont reach the stick. I know the animations won't be correct but is the scale/size of the pilot in relation to the cockpit a problem in the P51? The pics I see dont show what I am seeing.

The pics I see dont show what I am seeing. I've never noticed any scale issues with the pilots. There is the issue that the pilot animations aren't designed for inside the cockpit, so hand/feet positions are set based on the external low-poly cockpit models, so don't line up with the internal models, and often aren't animated to move with the controls.
TheSNAFU Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 Thanks Murleen. It looks like some of the other planes look much better but the p51 is too far off for my liking. Appreciate the response. Really too bad the devs don’t see enough value in this to do it.
SAG Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 I wish I could use this mode for VR but I fly 100% using instruments and the model occludes some of them. just a random thought
Murleen Posted January 31, 2022 Author Posted January 31, 2022 I don't find this is an issue on any of the aircraft I fly regularly, although occasionally I need to lean around a bit. Which planes are bad for this?
Blitzen Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Forgive for asking , but is there anyway to eliminate the "hand wiping of face" animation in most of The WW1 FC aircraft? There used to be a small animation "fix" that dealt with this but so far as I know it has disappeared or just doesn't work.I love this Mod but in FC I have to remember to turn it off.
jlan5031jlan5031 Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 I downloaded and tries this mod out. I determined I'd rather not use it. I deleted it from the MOD folder and erased it from JSGME, but it still is in the cockpit. How do I get rid of it?

Put it back in your MODS folder, then use JSGME to uninstall the mod (then you can delete from the MODS folder)
jlan5031jlan5031 Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Murleen, Thank you for your prompt reply, but I may not have understood your directions, because they didn't work for me. I unzipped the Pilot in the Cockpit folder and placed it in my MODS folder. I scrolled down to the JSGME.ex folder, opened it and right clicked "delete." When I went back to MODS , the Pilot folder had disappeared without my having to delete it. Alas, the pilot still sits in my aircraft. Any ideas?
Sakivano Posted June 7, 2022 Posted June 7, 2022 Does anybody use the "Pilots shadow only" version? Have you noticed that pilots in Doras and FW A8's in external views are invisible? Is there anyway to fix it? 1
jlan5031jlan5031 Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 I followed your instructions to remove the PilotinCockpit mod. I reinstalled the pod in Mods, went to jsgme.exe to uninstall it. Found no way to uninstall, but did use Delete command. Went back to Mods, but PilotinCockpit had disappeared. so was unable to delete it from mods. However, the PilotinCockpit is still there. I reopened the PIC folder and searched the games graphics and luascript folder but found nothing that matched . Have I missed something?
Corralandy120000 Posted July 15, 2022 Posted July 15, 2022 (edited) Hi. Is this mod still working with the lastes version of game? Because until latest update it worked fine, but now i'm getting lunascript error (unidentified object HandGunFlareRed7). Can someone please update this mod or tell me how to fix it? I really love this mod and I'd like to continue using it... Thanks Edited July 17, 2022 by Corralandy120000 1
Sakivano Posted July 27, 2022 Posted July 27, 2022 Could anyone re-up the "Pilots shadow only" version? I tried to fix some problems I had and finally I made a mess. And the download in this post doesn't seem to work. 1
AldoTheApache Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 FAVORITE MOD! Will this mod be updated for the newer versions? I truly love seeing 'my' body in VR. The experience cannot end here. For the love of all that is holy, please update

FoxbatRU Posted August 27, 2022 Posted August 27, 2022 Cool mod!? I made for myself a small change in shoulder straps from the pilot of the USSR. to be more in line with the real thing. https://www.mediafire.com/file/res6wk75t2b4bcz/pilot_ussr43.zip/file 1
R7-S276 Posted August 30, 2022 Posted August 30, 2022 it’s a great mod that I use for a long time and add a lot of realism… I just wonder if it could be possible to create the same kind of mod but to remove the ai copilot in the Ju52 and the Mosquito or to make the texture of the copilot invisible/transparent…
