There's something you don't see everyday...

I am simply having a blast trying to stay alive in a Hurricane as a member of the 157th Fighter Aviation Regiment. Sometimes you see AI do things that you just have to say, "there's something you don't see everyday." This is not a critique of the AI or of PWCG, think of it as a teaching moment. ;)

So there we were...four Hurricanes bouncing a gaggle of Ju-87s up around 4000 meters altitude. We knocked down a couple before we all ran out of ammo. We all headed to the closest friendly airfield to refuel and rearm (use your imagination).

And those damn Stukas followed us to Borko. I had followed the river and flew a left base leg landing to the west. My flight mates flew a direct line and had to fly around the western end to a right downwind leg.

That's me about to touchdown on the runway, and the first Stuka chasing my mates while retaining his "crowd pleaser."

The bastige is trying kill my mates.

I paused the action to grab another shot so you could see the chase from my POV...and the icons called up so you can tell who is who.

Look at the picture carefully...take a minute in case it doesn't jump off the screen at you. What's wrong with this picture?

At least I had my canopy open, lights on, and flaps down.

I pulled the exact same thing on CombatBox a couple weeks ago. Coming back from a decent sortie in the spitfire with a few other guys. Made a nice approach, flaps down made the flare...just before I touch down, @ROCKET_KNUT called out in the chat. "Spitfire, your wheels are up!"  *Crash* "Yes, you!"

In all other respects, a perfect landing.

I just heard they were rationing rubber back home and thought I'd do my part!
