Here is what I am trying to:

User lands on airfield after mission with/without a wingman (he didn't make it back)

User taxis to the RRR spot on airfield. On exiting the area "another" wingman is spawned, takeoffs and circles airfield awaiting the user to takeoff again and head back out on mission.

The issue I am having is getting the spawned wingman to actually form up on me.

I have successfully spawn the AI and have it takeoff and engage and return to base. However, getting the AI to be my wingman is quite problematic. My guess is the is a know limitation?

The best you are going to get is to give the "wingman" a cover command and they will follow around above you.

Unfortunately you cannot Spawn a flight with leader and wingmen, only individual planes.

But this is possible to do with Activate and Deactivate MCU. Deactivate and Activate does not break the link between leader and wingman. This is why you can deactivate a complete flight just deactivating the leader.

So here some food for thought:

1) If you deactivate a plane in flight he will just disappear, but the moment you reactivete it he will reappear exactly in the same configuration. Links with leader should remain.

2) Imagine now that you took off with two wingman,  number one will continue with you, number two will be Deactivated once he is in air and not too far from the Airfield.

At that instant that Wingman will disappear and remain frozen in Cyberspace.

3) When you are back having lost your initial wingman, you land on the airfield, go to the the service area RRR, then take off again.

After you took off (you check this with and event link) you Activate the frozen wingman that was waiting for you and very happily he will follow you to hell and back if he survives.

You can add and freeze in cyberspace many wingmen if you have a high consumption of them. Just Deactivate and Activate as you please.

All this may work, I have never tested it, but I do not see why it should not work. If you try it please keep us informed.

That's an interesting idea. It may work.

@IckyATLAS Unfortunately this does not work. When you deactivate the wingman, the entire player flight is deactivated.

I didn't get any further than that.

Dommage, worth trying though. Thanks.
