Track IR5 bobblehead viewing

I'm using Requiem's profile, slightly modified, and was able to track almost 1:1, in other words my head would move and would stop at a certain point as soon as my head stopped.

For example, starting at 0 degrees, looking forward, then moving moving my head to a 90 degree point, the tracking would be exact.

 

What is happening now, I start to move my head to the 90 degree point, but the tracking lags slightly, then overshoots, then comes back, but is moving around slightly...imagine one of those bobble head type dolls..with the springy movement of the head. 

 

This is the best I can describe.

I'm suspecting something between camera/head control settings and possibly a corruption of the configuration file, but I'm not sure what to do.

I've considered reinstalling the program, but I don't want to lose my keybinds.  What files should I back up?  I also have career files, etc...any other backup files?

Sounds like a Track IR issue, not the game.  Has your TIR camera moved or otherwise been disturbed?  Sunlight hitting your camera?  Bad reflector on the hat clip or loose track clip pro attachment?

 

Check this stuff.  Too many people resort to nuking their game install for every little problem.

Sunlight or a new lamp in the room? Either will definitely mess with TIR. I agree ,it sounds like a TIR issue, probably not a game issue.

Do you wear glasses? That gives a reflexion depending on the angle your face has.

I have those problems with my track IR. When I look up too much it jumps up or down.

Reflections, sunlight, reflections of glasses, lamps, anything that affects the IR camera, I've addressed in the past and due to my room location, I can't fly during the day due to the sunlight being too strong...actually the way the room is placed, I can fly in the mornings up until 10AM, then after 6PM or so...daylight savings time a little later. 

 

One thing that I did differently yesterday, and this room also doubles as a small recording studio, I set up a chrome microphone stand right behind where I sit, and did not put it away before flying.   Maybe this may have thrown some reflections off on the IR signal and affecting the sensor.

 

I will say that I had some wacky behavior not long ago and was attributable to a sport/workout shirt I was wearing that had a reflective logo (for night running)...d'oh!

 

But those movements were rather jarring....this is more of a subtle movement.  Another way I can describe it is if you're outside the aircraft using the mouse to view the aircraft and you go a little too fast in moving, let's say along the X axis...the motion starts a little slow, then accelerates and you stop the mouse, but the motion decelerates linearly...not jarringly.  I may have to make a movie...

 

Will also check the TIR reflective cap thingy.

 

Anyway, can't check right now as it is daytime, so I'll try it tonight and will report back if this was the cause.

Maybe you just bumped up your "smooth" parameter in your TiR profile settings by mistake? Described symptoms are somewhat similar.

A complete reinstall of the game did the trick, and it cleared up a bunch of other issues I was having with keybindings and movement of aircraft.  

 

Previous to that, I completely reinstall TrackIR etc.  but in the TrackIR app everything worked as it should.

 

Most likely my game files must have been corrupted or something to that extent.  Had to remap some keys...but that was OK. 

 

@BlitzPig_EL TUSA/Pepper says "hello"...was on the phone with him walking him through some issues he's having.  He was asking about Bury to see if he's doing OK.

I think so....I know he flew with us in TUSA...maybe even TGD...Greater Green back in the day.

Yup, BlitzPig_Bury.   Seems like ages ago doesn't it?  I remember flying on one of the original desert maps in old IL2 with Bury, Raven, a couple other Pigs, and some of the TUSA guys were on as well.   Had a prolonged DF with some guy in a late 109 and I was in the P40M.  After I shot the 109 down Pepper (I think, but it was one of the TUSA guys) complimented me on bagging the 109.

He gave me my first TrackIR. It was a 1st generation. Must be 25 fps tops. Laggy as heck. Made me nauseous all the time. ?
Bury was awesome! I miss the BlitzPigs heydays.  
Didn’t he fly a private charter jet?

Spits vs. 109s server...great times!  Lots of late Friday nights on that one.

 

Trying to curtail that a bit on the Finnish server, but damn it's fun and so is this iteration of the game.
