Yes thanks I was aware of that, but I don;t mind some of the wingmen sounds.

The visual messages still show for the player too, whcih is distracting, and annoying when they tell me where the enemy is that I haven't myself seen and am not attacking! But, I need the wingmen messages in order to understand them.

The 'enemies form the north' itself is a pain though, however I digress on all this message talk.

@216th_LuseKofte Was it the default campaign that you were flying in, or PWCG?

Right, didn't realize you meant the player's voice only.

It was earliest possible career for IL 2 in BOM.

I died after 7 missions AAA took me.

I start again asap taking less chances. I really never liked career, but now I do, at least this one

I have to admin that there might be changes in the right direction the AI is still very bad. Especially your own squad pilots are bad. I constantly shoot down 2-6 enemy fighter each mission. I a rarely see a friend chasing an enemy. While the enemy AI shoots very effective on yourself, your own AI returns to home without any kills but out of ammo. Especially the moscow campaign is hard for AI because the agile I-16 is even harder to kill for BnZ 109 fighter. The AI does not hit anything but is chased from behind. I loose 1-2 AI pilots every mission, while doing my best to kill the fighter as quick as possible. Your squ

Another problem is that last mission i was shot down by own flak. It was shooting right into combat with an enemy fighter.

That actually sounds very realistic.

Joking? I was in a very close fight with an I16.

Friendly fire AAA shoot downs were incredibly common during the war. The fleet at Sicily landings shot down 23 of the 144 C-47 paratroop laden planes flying over the fleet to their drop. Those big white and black stripes on WAllied a/c from June onward were there to prevent friendly fire.

I understand that, in my case it is that a single flak sure did not attacked a single enemy fighter in close combat with an friendly fighter. Was it really usefull to shoot with high calibre anti air guns on small and fast fighter?

Yep, the Sicily example isn't the most relevant as that was larger aircraft in formation at altitude (flying over a fleet?) rather than an ongoing dogfight that AA decide to shoot at.

Not denying that AA wouldn't engage in the latter scenario though.
