JG7_X-Man Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 Hey guys I need your help - in tweaking the attached mission below, the editor crashed and now the mission won't open any more. Funny things is the mission can run in game. I still have default skins in all but 1, but verified there are no spaces or weird characters. I am like 99% to release! Grrr! Nay help would be appreciated. 1_Autumn_44.rar
No_85_Gramps Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 (edited) I tried opening it in the editor but it crashed. Instead of loading from the .Mission file I tried loading it from the .msnbin file and it opened. When the mission file selection window opens change the my.mission entry to *.* and it will list all of the files. Just select the .msnbin file. Edited December 31, 2020 by No_85_Gramps 1 1

JimTM Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 For what it's worth, I believe the issue was caused by a whole bunch of mission code getting chopped off somehow at the end (and possibly near the beginning) of your original .mission file. I used the WinMerge utility to compare your original file with a new one created from the .msnbin file. 1 1

I had this problem a few times over the last years and indeed this happens when the editor crashes in the midst of saving the files, hence parts are missing. This is why it is always good to have two copies. In my case everything was corrupt, but Tadam! I had my second copy. Score IckyAtlas 1, ME 0 ? 1 1 1

Thank you so much for taking that extra step - talk about going above and beyond! Back in the day had to pull 12 hours straight to make a SEC filing deadline when a routine "file save" went haywire on me! Memories!
