I wish someone could make a Fed-Ex skin for the C-47 so I could absolutely let loose on those buggers with 7.62, 13mm, 20mm and 30 mm.
That at least would explain both why I 'wasn't at home' and why they never showed up at my door in the first place.

All these skins aren’t useable now with the update…

Perhaps with the new template but there is no quick fix. I just checked mine; for example the wing area is ~133% upscaled, but cockpit and hull uses different scaling so quick-and dirty rescale + copy/paste wont help and even then it would be a big task and still look like crap.

These must be done from the beginning.

The template is available, but no C-47 skins out yet? ? Would love to see that bird in civil clothes.

The one added 12/18/20 isn´t valid anymore since the 3D-model got updated before the release of the a/c. That´s why there are no new skins yet.

As soon as the new template is out, hopefully "soon", the forum will be flooded with C-47/DC-3-skins, I´m pretty sure.

Has anyone created a BOAC/KLM 777 skin?

It was rumored German long range fighters of 14/KG 40 shot it down because they suspected Winston Churchill on that flight. Though German pilot interviews contradict that hypothesis, it might make for an interesting story. (Yes, I know the story is a sad one.)

'Bout the BOAC 777 flight going down thanks them Nasties that did not kill Churchill but actor Lesley Howard:

 

Been looking for similar C47a planes from that period, as the 2 posts above seems a true artist's impression of it.

So far i came up with this maybe more realistic, and might change stuff like the fonts, or roundels still before finalizing it:

Looks very nice but BOAC operated aircraft only carried the RAF fin flash and not roundels so as to re-enforce their civilian status.

BOAC's Dakotas were painted in the contemporary Bomber Command scheme of Dark Green / Dark Earth upper surfaces and Night undersurfaces with black registrations outlined in white. The fin flash remained the early war type, three equal red, white and blue vertical bands.

G-AGBB / PH-ALI most probably had the name "Ibis" on the nose (I think both sides).
