CTD after latest update.

Can you help please. I updated to the latest patch about an hour ago. When I started BOS either a  mission, campaign etc 

a window comes up  stating- cannot open effect. Underneath the line says graphics\effects\air\village smoke.epl.

Any idea's?

I downloaded the new update, but when I run IL-2 in a mission or campaign I get a CTD and a window saying -cannot open effect. Underneath it says graphics\effects\air\village smoke.epl

 Can anyone help please.

@Redtail1, do you have any modifications enabled?

Can you give a mission on which you have this message pop up

Thank you DED-Rapidus .As soon as I read mods enabled the crystal ball cleared. I had three Mods- new effects v3, Smoke fix and WW2 stock effects.

I have never had to ask for assistance before when updating. Perhaps I was just lucky! Everything working again as normal and no need for those three mods.

Always check the installed Mods before an update ,sound advice I think!

 . All mods are disabled, unfortunately the issue still persists.

What can i do ? Is there some kind of recovery ?
