Screenshots or Video Help Needed !

I posted a bug report on the great battles forum about the damage and crew injuries from running into invisible objects.   Now I know that many of you have had this happen as well.  If you have a screenshot or video of that happening can you please post it into my bug report thread on the great battles forum.

 

DED-Rapidus  has actually replied to the thread and is asking for screenshots  etc.   I am currently at work  and will have to look and see if I have saved any of those  or not.  If you have one, please post there !

I posted 2 videos. I hope that this will allow them to find a common point between all these invisible objects in order to be able to correct them quickly. If we have to list them 1 by 1, we are not finished.

I just read the other thread you started over in the GBS forum. Good job! I try and send the ones I know on the Stalingrad map a little later.

I agree, I would think that they should be able to see these objects on the Developers side, but in case they can't, reporting a few might help them understand the problem a little better.

Correct,   I don't think   we can identify all of the inviso-objects,  but having a few screens or videos  might make the devs take more notice and at least do something to alleviate  the damage/crew injuries.

We almost need to record a short track right after we encounter one of those obstacles.Hit record then hit the obstacle again. Screenshot of the map with your position on it.Screenshot from above with free camera.Then all of that needs to be uploaded in one post in bug report section. Easy ...

Is there a way to add the mini-map, mission brief screen after using Ctl + R to record a session? I went on a hunt last night and found 2 and the Stalingrad map only to realize afterwards that I can't show where I am on the map. I still have the flight recording if someone can tell me how to reveal my position, otherwise I will have to try again later tonight.

I've encountered a lot of invisible objects on the Finish server...just by going off the road a bit...I haven't been on there much though because school is a high priority for me right now...but once I do get some time I will get some tracks

That's the thing. You can't open the map in recorded track. It has to be done while you're recording. Hit record track,open the map,take the screenshot of the map and you on it,then if the external views enabled, F11 and a screenshot of your tank from birds view.Or instead a short video after reviewing the track is nice too.

The best would be to have, as in other games, a tool to report bugs. You know, this kind of tool where you press a key (F9 for example) and the game automatically creates a file with all the data of the session (your position, your altitude, the state of your vehicle, the use memory, CPU, GPU of your PC, the keys you pressed, etc)

Hey thanks for that, but I am pretty sure I had the mini-map displayed as I drove around while recording. But when I play the recording back there is no mini-map and no way to turn it on in the recording. any suggestions?

@RIVALDO, here is the edited clip from the recording. I had the mini-map active the whole time during the 30 minute drive around. But when I playback the recording, there is no mini-map. Anyway, this is the Stalingrad map with another invisible tree.

Sorry i wasn't clear. If you record a video from the game it'll show whatever you have on your screen. But if you record a track and then play it ,no maps or messages will appear on screen.

When you say "record a video from the game", you mean using another piece of software like OBS studio? I normally use OBS when there is something I know I want to do. But because I was just driving around looking for invisible trees:rofl:, I decided to just use LtCtl + R to record when I bumped into one. But I guess that wont work.

 ... and, just to add to the confusion, there is at least one hole in one of the maps.  When the tank falls through your view stays at ground level while the tank disappears beneath you (I've gone through it twice).  90% of my gameplay is on multiplayer servers with no minimap and no position shown.

If you have gone through it twice, you must be able to tell what map and where?

found an invisible object...still in game repairing my tank from it...I recorded myself hiting it from different angles...will upload later today

and I just hit another one continuing on my mission....amazing

The summer Velikiye Luki map is the worst for invisible trees that I’ve experienced. I’m not a computer guy but short of locating and fixing these through a coding process, it’s just too much to ask for such a piecemeal approach.  There will be hundreds of these things out there....

 

‘Having said that, many thanks to the guys willing to take the effort to try, I see a couple of guys pulling KP Duty with toothbrushes scrubbing the bathroom floor though in the process.

I am surprised that this isn't/can't be done to be honest, and the only value I see in doing what is being done here is in the event the Dev team doesn't actually understand what is being reported, we can zero their attention to exactly what it is so that they can better understand exactly how to fix it.

 

The other benefit I see is the opportunity to point out to the Dev team that there are a number of issues with the maps besides the invisible trees that could be fixed/cleaned up without having to affect the FPS rate when someone in a plane uses the map.

 

I personally have no problem with the maps in terms of their graphics resolution, and I am quite happy to use them. In fact the map that came with Tank Crew is no longer my favorite.

 

I would recommend to buy the maps to anyone, even if they had no intentions of using the flight sim part of it, but if it weren't for all the invisible objects. So I think as a business model, there is certainly a case for the Dev's to look into this, and my recommendation would be to ignore all the chatter that the maps aren't good enough to drive a tank on.

I'm reasonably certain it was on Kuban ... something like 0512 on the beach.  Or it could've been 0710 ... I didn't really recognize it as a map problem until it happened the second time and, while I had an idea of where I was when it happened I've since forgotten.  I was on the Finnish server both times.  It seems like long ago I had a similar experience in the woods somewhere, at the time I had NO clue what had happened as I think I was being attacked, but that location is lost to time if it was even a map issue.  I can live with these outliers, though, it's the killer trees that drive me nuts at the moment.  ?

Wow. Haven't encountered those yet. But drowned in what appeared to be dry land or even grass...

Also when i said your location on map,obviously the online servers won't have that option. What i meant is remember that spot,for example record a 10 second track.Then watch it,you will know where that is,then with  editor perhaps create a mission for your tank on that map in that spot with gps settings enabled.

I found the most invisible objects to be on the grid lines, in forests and fields. 

 

In forests it's has literally got to the point where if the trees start lining up or I see a suspiciously attractive trail. I move over a few hundred meters. 

 

To me it seems like the tiles are almost overlapping?

That is a good point.

 

I know on the Prokhorovka map, if you drive around the big airfield in the detailed part close to one of the tank shelters, you hit an invisible object right next to it as if the visual representation of the tank shelter is not aligned with its digital representation on the map. Its almost like when you import towns/airfield objects into the mission editor, and you accidentally move the group icon and misalign the objects position on the map. Only in this case, the object is invisible. But you would think the Dev's would be able to see this type of thing. So the invisible object thing is a little bit mysterious to me.  

 

But in case you hit one, get a screen shoot with your mini-map open if you can and post it here:
