Hello from a new yet old pilot

Hello everyone,

I had a friend tell me about the game. I was excited to see an updated version of IL2. I played the original from release and then absolutely LOVED pacific fighters.  I spent thousands of hours in the games as they are a thrill to fly. The love and passion that Oleg Maddux put into this work of art and getting to enjoy that was a special experience. I was even more excited to see the current team has carried this forward as is evident by the various posts by them.

I have to admit the addition of tanks with the quality this team puts out also sounds promising. I enjoyed playing various tank games through the years but they all seemed a bit meh. Seeing this integrated into the IL2 world is amazing and has so much potential.

The only hard part is the wallet cringing with adding everything to the cart right now LOL

Welcome to the community! It's not a cheap hobby but it is a good one!

Definitely check out the series and if you're ready to jump in there's some pretty good sales on right now.

All relative I'd say. The price of racing motorbikes, musical instruments, wind surfing, skiing, or anything worthy of a hobby is usually orders of magnitude more than the cost we pay for the time and fun had out of this work of art, not to mention the generosity of so many here giving out gifts codes for free.

One of the most cost-efficient hobbies out there from how I see it.

I saw that and pretty much dumping everything into the basket atm as it looks great and my gaming laptop can still run it. I did love reading the comments of the developers and how they are still holding ot the quality. Even though if they released an updated pacific version, or a B-25 (pssst they were heavily used in normandy lol) it would simply be a her take my money moment.

Thankfully I still have my x52 pro from my prior il2/pacific fighters days and it still works well. But now I can add vr and do what we hoped track ir would do.

@ksetuni Sale on now and they are frequent, so you don't have to buy everything all at once.  It's a great flight sim and they make it better all the time.  In addition to new for pay content the dev team produces a many new gameplay features that come with the price of admission.

Welcome aboard.

I have Tank Crew and imo each and every tank there deserves a commendation. Not many good tank games out there, not many so much detailed tanks.

You can grab your favorite title and go with the campaign, wait a month or two for a sale to pop up to buy nex titles cheap. All of them are worth the money imo, and all of them are being updated regardless of release date.

Good to hear. I was considering tank crew but not sure yet. I LOVED various tank games I played but many were too arcady for my tastes or worse yet wanted you to keep dumping in hundreds or thousands of dollars. I wanted to do a little more research before getting it.

I loved the passion that oleg put into the original and the interaction with the community. Seeing the posts here showing the same mentality and caring about the product, even if it means I cant look forward to a modern pacific fighters just yet (the pacific was my favorite theatre of ww2) caused me to grab everything while I could. I'm still unemployed thanks to the covid bs so grabbed it while I could.

I can just hope for a B-25 as flying that in pacific fighters was amazing in addition to it being my favorite bomber of ww2.

I agree. I think of the thousands of hours I played il2/pacific fighters and the cost vs time played was minimal. Far less expensive than other hobbies. Heck its cheaper than going out like so many do.
