hello and thanks to the dev team for improving the tanks AI ! it is really better now 

 otherwise I have an observation about the "gunlock" aspect..... this function is included for realism, but it lacks a realistic function a lot more important than gunlock:  the closure of armored visors by AI-controlled tanks .......

since machine guns still pierce the armor of some tanks and pierce the armor visors of some other tanks, the tanks controlled by the AI die in a few bullets fired in the visors.

the AI thinks about locking the barrel but does not think about locking the visors...  this function is missing

 

 

but the real problem, of course is the fact that machine guns can destroy tanks so easily

true! After this patch I have more hope that Tank Crew will age well and finally have a nice a pleasant gameplay. We "just" need patience. The changes in the last version are very welcomed. Hope the next big one will have the MG problems fixed.

?

Hope also the pathfinding will improve with time.... Really a lot of tanks get stuck with buildings and rumble or collide with other friendly tanks. ?

Agree this new patch is a big leap forwards for the AI.  Battles feel much more realistic with ranging shots and slower AI responses to off-axis attacks.  Thank you to the devs!

yes the game is getting better and better! too bad it takes a long time, but that's life.
 if not here is my wish list for the next updates: 
1: adjust the problem of machine guns breaking through tanks
2: getting the heads of the AI controlled tank commanders out from time to time "it would make the game play more alive to the feeling "
3: improve the sounds of shell reloading, caterpillar and engine noise "the sound quality has a huge impact on the video game feeling" 
 this is something not to be overlooked.

@TIGRE88, do you have tracks or videos where a tank is hit by machine guns and where the machine guns hit that tank?

hi, no I don't have a video but I had done a little Test mission, where we could see that any "German, Russian etc" machine gun could quickly destroy a panzer3, panzer4 by perforating its armor and could kill the crew of a TIGER by firing a few bullets through the armored glass sight.  bullets go through very easily.

 

yesterday I was testing one of my missions, a tiger tank followed me, soldiers attacked us by surprise with only 4 machineguns, through the forest, I turned around, the tiger tank following me was destroyed !

yes : i just did the test , the panzer4 was destroyed from the first bullets and the tiger this time took longer .. sometimes it dies very quickly like the panzer4

 

 

all tanks are affected by this issue except the KV1-S, the Sherman and the Ferdinand.

the panzer 3 and 4 are destroyed even with the armored glass sights of the driver and tank commander closed.

I looked at the Tiger and Panther, but the gunners break visors, but not break , i look further.

let's say that visually the armored glass becomes opaque but the problem is that the driver, the tank commander, the loader etc can easily die.

and for the panzer3 and 4 the bullets perforate the steel armor and the windows !

Please remind me from which side of the tank and what machine gun was fired, why such conclusions were made?

panzer3 and 4:

condition all armored glass closed    

all WW1 and WW2 machine guns manage to kill crew members, such as commander, pilot, charger, radio,  more multiple mechanical elements that are damaged or destroyed, such as the gearbox, the motor, the turret mechanism etc.

 

TIGER:

 condition :  all armored glass open   " if the armored glass are closed the crew of the TIGER survive" 

all WW1 and WW2 machine guns kill crew members with just a few bullets when firing through armored glass,  more multiple mechanical parts of the tank that get damaged .

 

other tanks like the sherman, ferdinand etc are visibly not affected by these problems.

I had done a full test some time ago, but then I deleted everything, thinking that it had been taken into account..

i tested the DSH , the MG34, the MG08 of the WW1, and the american machineguns too ..   even the old german mg08 of WW1 manage to pierce the armor of the panzer3 and 4 and kill the crew !  

 

as I said in the past, the tanks are very vulnerable to machine guns, machine guns represent a great danger when you are in a tank, especially a panzer3 and 4 ..

 

and even a TIGER, because the AI does not think to close the armored glass of the tanks and since there is a problem of realism concerning the machine guns which pierce the armor and the armored glass, the result is that the tanks controlled by the AI and even the player are killed very easily when a machine gun is encountered ..

 

the machine guns are the target number 1 in the battlefield , even before dealing with the ZIS3 anti tank gun or the KV1 which fires at us !!   and I find that it is not logical

Have you been able to reproduce the problem with the machine guns?

Can we expect a fix in the upcoming update?
