Anyone interested in some authentic flight controls for a Spit MkIX and, in time, other aircraft? I've started this project which will hopefully build into a community over time. Its primarily a VR thing and I'm focussing on the main tactile flight controls like spade/stick, throttle quadrant, elevator trim. Also flaps and landing gear - I love the action on that simple control. PointCtrl can handle the rest. I've developed a range of modular components that make it easy to build compatible products that go into a universal control hub.

Self-Build Kit for Non-Engineers
This is a self-build kit and you need to 3d print the plastic. All the rest is cheap commodity stuff like bearing, magnets & hall sensors you buy off ebay and Amazon. It's not really a project for engineers - i'm building it for people who are game to assemble an Ikea wardrobe.

Beta Testing soon
Before I upload everything to Thingiverse I'll be looking to beta test with some people who know what they want. There is no reason this stuff should not feel as good as proper commercial gear and that's my aim. Let me know if you're interested.

Flight Stick first
Here's a render of the flight stick at the current stage of development as well as an early version I took down to Goodwood to compare against their MkIX simulator. Also how it looks with a dev. version of the throttle quadrant (landing gear lying on the floor)

This looks amazing!! I'd be happy to help out if I can be of assistance. Sokol, is this your project, or are you just sharing? (I saw the the above is "quoted", but couldn't see who the original author was)

Would be better as a kit IMO (provide the parts bearings, magnets, sensors etc)

Or...I guess links to the exact parts needed is just as good.

On Facebook is said that "beta tester" will start "soon", probable when the guy will make STL files available.

Assembling the parts video guide.

Well done - very well engineered kit, but this center system with one small spring can result... "swing".  :)

Thanks to @Sokol1 for giving this a plug for me. This was a project I started 2 years ago and it is now live. Here are a couple of videos about it by VR Flight Sim Guy. First with some IL2 action then an unboxing and more details about the stick. To answer some questions raised above.

  1. Kit of parts - Yes it is now an option. A mate of mine has started a business making it up. Probably cheaper than you can source individually but a full spec with every item listed is also available for download here.
  2. Don't have a printer - Working on that one too. See here for options.

Here's the two videos. Hope you like them. Now that the fighter stick is done, I'll be starting work on the throttle quadrant and trim wheel. My final video below concludes with a sneak preview of these in prototype form.

Now we're past beta test, I think I'll start a separate thread for this. Thanks for your interest everyone!
