Off_Winters Posted September 21 Author Posted September 21 Hi All, The first post has been updated to include a link to a set of Additional standalone ships. This pack adds in 5 standalone ships that can be called on in missions. It adds two British, two German and one Italian ship. details of what the pack includes can be found here: Additional Warships and Naval AI mod - Mods - IL-2 Sturmovik Forum Thank you to Stonehouse and Kraut1 for allowing the inclusion of their great mod. regards Rob. 1
AcesDarthBubu Posted October 8 Posted October 8 I am curious, terrain mod like this is purely a reskin of land and terrain textures or the landscapes feature are also modified to reflect real life locations?

G'day AcesDarthBubu, The actual terrain model has not been edited, you are correct in your thinking that the terrain has been repainted. however this mod goes way beyond just repainting ground textures. A large amount of work went into: * Changing the User Interface (UI) to give the overall feel of a standalone Nth Africa/Tunisia game. * Swapping out Russian models with both British and US model files, so that you dont see Russian ground objects, vehicles, aircraft, tanks, ships, infantry etc. * Historical repaints for a large number of included aircraft. * Russian pilot models changed over to use British pilot model files with the uniform altered to reflect the use of Khaki battle dress tunic instead of RAF blue tunic. * In game maps have been altered to show Tunisian town/city names. this goes a long way to helping the player think of it as a Nth Africa location, as your not seeing Russian town names etc when viewing maps. * Repaints of vehicles, tanks, ships, artillery etc to have Mediterranean paint schemes. including player drivable vehicles. * swapped out certain building models with models more suited to the desert environment. * removal of tree model files from terrain. download and have a look, you can always delete if not to your liking. regards Rob. AcesDarthBubu Posted October 13 Posted October 13 (edited) Thanks for your detailed clarification @Off_Winters. Yup I did read the details on what modifications were made on the first post. Just wasn't sure on whether terrain is re-textured or re-built. In fact, I did download this mod and played the tuskegee campaign that is using this terrain and noticed how similar the land size and terrain features to the actual map location, hence my question. Again many thanks for the mod. Hoping somehow location suitable buildings or palm trees are moddable to make this map even better. Edited October 13 by AcesDarthBubu 1
Off_Winters Posted October 13 Author Posted October 13 (edited) G'Day all, With the release of game version 6.003, I'm working through some changes and have taken the opportunity to do a few Me109 E4 schemes. I'll upload a small patch to version 9.0a hopefully over the weekend as well as a full download set for people who haven't already downloaded V9.0 regards Rob. Edited October 13 by Off_Winters 1 2
Off_Winters Posted October 18 Author Posted October 18 (edited) G'Day All, I have updated the main page to include a link to a patch that will bring the Desert Mod up to Game version 6.003. New Bf109-E4 has been revised to have desert schemed skins and UI screens. I have also reinstated the link for the additional ship package. the visual issues having been resolved. I will also upload a complete download of the mod for people who have not yet downloaded version 9.0 which does not require the patch file. however, I'm having trouble with unstable internet here at work and uploading a 6gig file is proving difficult. I'll update the main page link once that has been completed. regards Rob. Edited Tuesday at 12:25 AM by Off_Winters spelling 2 1
Off_Winters Posted October 19 Author Posted October 19 (edited) G'day All, Sorry just realised the link for the full set I just posted about is missing the mission folder and tree options. I'll update the full set link later tonight. regards Rob. Edited October 19 by Off_Winters 1

KodiakJac Posted Tuesday at 11:31 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:31 PM @Off_Winters Thank you for this fantastic mod! It had been off my radar for some reason, so I just stumbled upon it from the new Tuskegee Airmen campaign by Falcon41. So, I was able to start flying the Tuskegee Airmen campaign using this mod immediately, and the immersion is terrific! I can't imagine the amount of work you have put into this mod, but it is greatly appreciated. Wow! Cheers! 1
