Logitech Flight Throttle Quadrant - set up for flaps in IL-2?

Hi - sorry if this has been done to death but I can't figure it out based on what I found through some searches.

New to IL-2 and am enjoying it. I have a Logitech flight throttle quadrant and want to use the levers to control the gear and flaps in the Bf 109-F4.

Right now I have the throttle working, and have mapped buttons on it to allow me to control gear and flaps with the buttons, but I'd rather use the levers.

Is it possible?

thanks!

Flaps and Gear are not axis controlled - you need to bind these to either an up & down button or a toggle button. Your are using a Logitech flight throttle

quadrant like this (ex. Saitek?):

If this is the case, then you might want to use one of those 3 toggle buttons to control your gear and flaps.

thanks for the reply! that's the throttle I'm using

I have figured out how to use the buttons to raise / lower gear & flaps but was hoping to be able to use the levers

I have the six throttle CH quadrant and I could map my trim tabs/button/stablizer to those axes without problem. Never tried the gear nor flaps; seems like the gear would be either up or down, and elevator / aileron flaps would be the reason for a stick/yoke.

Having said that, I did not like how the trim tabs/etc. worked on the axes, so moved them to buttons.

You cant use analog inputs (axis) for controls that requires digital input (buttons/key press), case of landing gear and flaps in IL-2:GB.

But you can use the levers of FTQ for this functions, setting their axes for pres keys, using 3rd part keymapper software like Joystick Gremlin.

An example with JoyTokey -  Joystick Gremlin=vJoy, JoyToKey I run from a folder. ?

With the lever (axis) bellow ~45% key A* is pressed, and if A is assigned for landing gear, wheels goes down. B is pressed with lever above ~55%.

And you have option for return the lever for the middle, simulating Bf 109 LG selector, that is Down - Neutral - Up, but can use just up-down.

For flaps the operation is not exactly like you may imagine, e.g lower the lever in FTQ for 10%, in game flaps lower for 10%, because the game don't allow you use a analgo axis go flapes.

BTW - The RL Bf 109 flaps has ~1 degrees positions, but the pilot can't move, for example for 10% with just one hand movement, need pull a wheel several times, so the press and hold command of game is the best compromise for simulate this kind of operation.

But you will use the lever on FTQ as ON-OFF- ON switch. Lever up > flaps up, lever down flaps start lower, if want stop in e.g. ~40% move lever for the middle.

Raise flapes moving lever from middle to up, and now can leave there, of move for low case want drop full flaps.

* A is just example, but for JoyTokey is required single key for command, can't use LCtrl+A, LAlt+A etc, will result in unwanted press of A, besides LCtrl+A...

So go for Joystick Gremlin, diving the axis in bands, i thin is possible simulate e.g. the Stuka, Ju 88 flaps operation, that have more positions.

I have two quadrants and am able to program them for throttle and pitch but they do not work in the game.  Is there a setting in the game that I am not aware of?  Thanks
