No Hurricane is probably in Oct. Work has been slow, but getting there. The artist we gave the project to is slower, but he does great work. You'll see a peak in the next DD. C-47 is also not in the next update. Next update has the new free Tempest Campaign and spotting changes you are aware of, haze adjustments, joystick control for tank turret and 4K P-39 skins and maybe one or two other things.

AWESOME! I love the Tempest. It's easier to fly than the Spitfire; has more firepower than a Fw-190A; has the maneuverability of the yak at medium speed, and better  visibility than the back of my head.

joystick control for tank turret

Thanks Jason. I think that’s a good feature to include.

Keep up the good work.

Can you do something like this for the aircraft gunner positions someday?

You could do that in CFS3

No, I can't.  I don't own CFS3.

Really? A8 with 4x 20mm MG151/20 and 2x 13mm MG131?

:popcorm:

Let me guess - it'll start with projectile weight MG151/20 from 95 to 120 gr vs 130 to 170 gr by 20mm HS (British or US, I or II, M1 or AN/M2?). Rate of fire, propeller synchronisation ...

Only two 151 in the A3 IIRC. And the HS is more powerful than the 151. Still, it is an exaggeration, I understand.

Well, for a 1941 plane, 4 Hispanos are really a good combo I would say!

But you understand, that the projectile weight is of absolutely no importance here, because the effect of the mineshells was the higher amount of explosives, which, of course, has much less weight than the steel of the shells.

But the Tempest was not yet present, when the A3 was killing Spits and Hurries over the canal:P

More powerful, OK, but also more effective? And then there are the two 13mm MG131.

Advantage of the hispanos is IIRC flatter trajectory at engagement ranges and higher muzzle velocity, making it somewhat easier to land hits. And possibly higher rate of fire, though I think this is pretty close between the two.

Typhoon was a 1941 aircraft and had 4 hispanos, and was used to counter FW-190s in cross-channel low alt raids during the mid war. So the Tempest was not there but its ugly little brother was. :)

I would say the reverse - not necessarily more powerful as a shell, but possibly more effective as a gun/shell combo.

Yeah agreed, just careful with the wording guys as it causes confusion.. the word powerful can be interpreted in two different ways... the hispano has superior kinetic performance (velocity), while the MG151 is a lighter, more compact gun with superior chemical / explosive properties in its HE shells. Penetration "power" versus explosive "power".

Yes, absolutely. The more powerful weapon is surely the Hispano. But this was not what the developers of the MG151s were aiming for. They decided to go an absolutely different way.
