JohniT Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 (edited) Since I purchased this game a couple of weeks ago I have been flying a Hurricane I Rotol which I found a nice stable plane to fly for a newcomer. However sice the TF5 update the handling characteristics have changed. It is now more difficult to control, not as stable and harder to land as it does not glide down nicely onto the runway as it used to but comes down a bit like a flying brick. I have had to try and reduce the aileron and elevator sensitivity in the axis setup but has made no difference. I have turbulance and flutter unselected inthe realism settings so has nothing to do with the wind. What's changed here? My plane is not as enjoyable to fly as before. Edited August 7, 2020 by JohniT
ATAG_Flare Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 A bug I noticed is that the 20mm gunpods in the R1 loadouts for the 109 do not appear - you can fire them and the weight of the plane goes up but the guns don't show up under the wings.

Hello John There have been no changes to the flight model of the Hurricane I Rotol with the patch. If you are flying the Hurricane I Rotol Fighter-Bomber, then it comes default loaded with bombs... which will obviously increase the weight and make the handling worse. The only change to the standard fighter has been to modify the overheat modeling slightly. I would recommend you verify your install.... also check your settings to make sure something has not gone back to a default.

jasta11ace Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I just fired up Tobruk. My stick doesn't work nor TrackIR. I see nothing in the Options to get them to work like in Blitz. any help would be much appreciated.

JohniT Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 (edited) Buzzsaw: Thx for your reply regarding the Hurricane Rotol, it does seem to fly as though it is heavier as I now need more throttle to take off or it goes haywire as soon as its airborne. I'm not at my pc at the moment but I will check for bombs as soon as I can. I am still using the same plane as before though and only in CLOD Blitz. Also I did put an earlier post in about the guns on the Hurricane Rotol which are now coming out way too loud and not balanced properly with the other sounds as they were before the TF5 update. Edit: I checked for bombs but there are non selectable for this plane (Hurricane I Rotol Fighter) and the take off weight is the same as before at 2922 kg. All my settings are exactly the same. ATAG_SKUD Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 (edited) Can you check secondary illumination (instrument panel lights) in the Ju 88? Can't get them to turn on. Primary works fine. skud Edited August 13, 2020 by ATAG_SKUD 1
Solitojorgesoo Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 I downloaded Tobruk and the Blitz patch, and all works OK.- I had to overcome my fear that being a Win 7 64 user, (with no intentions to update to Win 10), some problems should arouse with keys and joystick mappings, as explained at the new manual .- Fortunately all my settings remained and work OK. The only problem I noticed is that I lost my panning views which I had already mapped to my joystick hat.- I used them often with the aircraft external view, which now I cannot pan anymore, although TrackIr does the job, but not as with the precision and flexibility of the hat. I tried with Trackir off, but no way. Is there a way to fix it ? I am using a Thrustmaster Hotas Cougar.- Thanks

Unfortunately although the game still works with W7, we cannot support it as Microsoft has ended all support.

The mater still confuse. However Loadout used work OK for Multiplayer (I don't check in 5.0). 1
JohniT Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 After the 5.002 update I found that for the Hurricane I Rotol the machine guns are still way too loud in the external view. In the internal cockpit view the machine guns sound dwindled to nothing. There also seems to be something wrong now with the sound for the undercarriage, seems inconsistant and out of sync. 1

Undercarriage, what plane? I've checked more than a few after reading this and they sound correct and are lined up with the animations. The gear on most planes will be raising/lowering at different speeds, so you may hear the same locking sounds at different times based on when the gear are fully lowered.
JohniT Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 (edited) Thx for checking, did you check the machine gun sounds also? All things apply to the Hurricane I Rotol in CLOD Blitz which I have been flying around to every airfield in Southern England so have got to know it quite well. Edited August 13, 2020 by JohniT
FTC_Karaya Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 It's not just the Hurricane, all aircraft seem affected to a degree. Gun sounds just go silent after a while. 1
BOO Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 Im also getting the impact "pew pew" sounds if I pass cose to the aircraft Ive shot at....sometimes a good second or two after Ive finshed firing.

So seeing M20 in the loadout panel really confuses me a bit. I've been trying to find info on M2 ammo types used and when. Do you know any good ref material on the m2 used during ww2 I found these , (but want info on what and when regarding ammo during ww2)https://www.inetres.com/gp/military/infantry/mg/M2.htmlhttps://www.inetres.com/gp/military/infantry/mg/50_ammo.html
Team Fusion Buzzsaw Posted August 13, 2020 Author Team Fusion Posted August 13, 2020 We are looking at a hotfix patch for the cannon issues. Hopefully can be done tomorrow... if not as soon as possible. 2
