T34 which is able to knock Tiger out w/ 1 shot from much longer distance. SU shooting w/o visual over a hilltop and hitting every time. And so on. One reason I'm nowadays in Finnish server.

T34 which is able to knock Tiger out w/ 1 shot from much longer distance. It seems that the issue described is more related to network problems and an overloaded server, as indicated by some of the server messages in the chat. I’ve faced similar accusations myself while playing on this server. For example, player hondawg33 accused me of having a "Super-Sherman" after failing to penetrate it several times. Later, he complained that the Sherman was dealing too much damage to Tigers and Elefants. I believe that the reason the Sherman (other tank) could withstand the damage was due to network latency—judging by the nickname, hondawg33 is likely a player from China or Japan, while the server seems to be located in France. And when it comes to New Zealand (or Between Manala and Valhalla. ), the lag would be even more significant . As for the fact that a Sherman/T34 can take down a Tiger with a single shot—it’s no secret and definitely not cheating. Here are a few videos demonstrating this in action: Скрытый текст And when it comes to the SU-152, its power is well-known. Many Tiger drivers tend to overestimate their tanks' capabilities, relying too much on their armor and feeling invincible. When they face a different reality, instead of adjusting their tactics, they start accusing others of cheating—this is what we call defamation. If you genuinely believe that a player is cheating, the best approach is to record a track and send it to the developers. As far as I know, they thoroughly investigate such cases and ban accounts when cheating is confirmed. Edited October 20, 2024 by Nblg_Magni 1 1
Aapje Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 (edited) It's a classic multiplayer issue that one person sees a hit, but the server and the other person does not actually register a hit. This is because the game anticipates server delay and makes a prediction of the location of other players, but if they don't move as expected, then what you see on the screen doesn't actually match what the server calculates based on the actual movement of each player. If the lag is really bad, then you can even see players jump around, because there is long delay before the server gets the new location from the player's computer, and can send it to the computer of the other players, so the prediction algorithm is used for a very long time. Then when the actual location finally arrives at the other player's computer, there is a big difference between the prediction and the actual location, so the correction results in the player suddenly jumping to a different location on the screen. If the server itself is slow, this makes it worse, because it then takes longer for the server to send updates to each player's computer. So there is a longer period before the predicted location if replaced with the actual location on screen. Although this kind of delay should impact all players equally. This can look like a cheating, invulnerable player, because you see the hit, but the hit was only registered locally, because the round hit the predicted location of the enemy player. But the actual location of the enemy is different, so when the server calculates the shot, it registers a miss (or a hit in a different, less lethal spot). I would argue that players with big lag should preferably stay away from those servers, and it is valid to kick them, because they ruin the fun of others, even when they don't cheat or grief. Because it is hard for the player to see the difference, it is indeed best to contact the server admins or the developers and let them sort it out, rather than accuse someone publicly. Just to make ping and lag bigger, so one is not there where others see him on their screens. I have several films from another flight sim, where fighter is shooting to plain air, as bomber is not where it seems to be. I sent those films to the owner of that sim and became very hated by other side, as all their super pilots either lost their invulnerability or got kicked out.

What is your ping to the server? I understand this at a very amateur level. Here is my pin to the server (88). As far as I understand, this is not the best option, but not bad either. True, the server often gives out the following information: "The server is overloaded: the apparent position of other aircraft may lag behind the real one. Contact the server administrator." as far as I understand, the network test is also not bad.
Navigator-IL62 Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 I have a friend, a cowboy, who, when riding his white horse, sees and hears nothing around him. Today I knocked him off his horse and received gratitude from him in return. We have such friendly relations that we do not even greet each other. But since there were other players on the server, I greeted everyone. I regret that I had to kill one opponent, but the cowboy on the white horse did not notice this either and continued to think that his white horse was not noticeable in the clear winter field. When I knocked him off his horse, I was finally noticed and I was immediately wished a good day. I did not have time to answer his wish, so I also wish him a good day, only here.
super-truite Posted November 15, 2024 Author Posted November 15, 2024 (edited) sometimes the internet connection on the server is not the best. But I get this kind of hit registration problem on other servers. Concerning Navigator, I played against him several time and I really doubt he needs to cheat ... he is the best red tank player out there I think Regarding the server performances, it is good or really good. It has performance issues only if the script that removes the AI when enough players are connected fails to trigger in theory. Edited November 15, 2024 by super-truite
GasTeddy Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 (edited) I'd recommend Navigator to try some other server. Finnish Virtualpilots server runs pretty well and missions change every 5 h, no day is the same. It also kicks every high ping (natural or manipulated) out and is full realism one. Even it has a tendency to favor Allied, what comes to locations of spawns, Control Points and other similar things. Edited November 15, 2024 by GasTeddy Mizzzplelled wrods

stupor-mundi Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Server settings possibly causing crashes? I don't usually get excessive amounts of crashes on AAS. Just now, Engelskirchen, with about 11 players in game, I got 3 crashes in the space of half an hour, all in the same spot, on the forested ridge towards the town flag. Thus, in a spot with many tanks nearby, if that might play a role. Everything else seemed normal, just a stupid amount of crashes.
Winkelmann Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Hi. I've been trying out your server a few times now. I like it a lot. Small maps that get you into the action quick. Dedicated ground support for the tanks in the mud below. Alas the parser is not alive anymore since October last year. Any chance that it can be revived? And a happy new year to all of you.
