proper way to activate/deactivate airfields

For a mission I am building I need to dynamically activate/deactivate tank spawns (fakevehiclefield).
When I deactivate one using a timer + Trigger : Deactivate, The airfield is still visible and you can still click on it but cannot spawn.
You get a little black screen in lieu of the spawn interface (with the choice of tanks):

It is thus doing what I want (you cannot spawn on this tankfield) but it is confusing for players as you can still click on the icons.
I would like a visible hint that the spawn is not activated.
I have some hacky ideas to do so but I feel like there must be a clean way of doing this.

See "Manage Airfield Availability" on pg. 131 of the editor manual. Of course you are dealing with tank spawns and not airfields in your case.
