[FAC]Ghost129er Posted July 26, 2020 Posted July 26, 2020 Hi all, As the title says, I am in search of controllers (X-55/X-56 preferably but others are welcome too) HOTAS controllers that are not working/malfunctioning/have issues. Reason is as I'm planning on doing a custom HOTAS system but need a base of some sort (mostly the shells/frame) for my own HOTAS system as 3d printing is way off budget and sales on e-bay are good but when it comes to shipping I'm paying 3 times the item's cost for just shipping. Kindly post here or PM me if you have anything that's in such a condition (which I doubt, but is still wroth a shot asking). -Ghost
Sokol1 Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 Best for this purpose is CH controllers, as their construction is very sturdy, with good quality switches use simple wiring - reuse their HATS is easy, just a 5x4 diode matrix, in Saitek's internal wiring is a mess, PITA to understand, and switches quality not so good. Best is that CH gameport - that may you find for low price in eBay; is too suitable, as your are going to install new USB controller (e.g. Freejoy, MMjoy2, Easyjoy32, BU0836....) 1
[FAC]Ghost129er Posted July 27, 2020 Author Posted July 27, 2020 Hi @Sokol1, Thanks for the info and suggestion - trust me, once you've mucked with the Immobilizer/wiring for an E36/any car honestly, nothing is a mess to understand and screw around. As for Saitek/Logitech's quality, that is there, no denying it being an owner of a Cyborg Evo Force from Saitek... I may drop this idea as a member here has offered some kind help so let's see. -Ghost
Sokol1 Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 Reuse (good) old stick is a reasonable cheap way to have a "new", customized. ~13 years ago I "modernize" a CH CombatStick + PRO Throttle (gameport versions) using a BU0836 USB controller. https://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2334380/ch-gameport-gear-bu0836-my-new-usb-hotas-phoenix More recently did the same of CH FigherStick (Mac version) using Arduino PRO Micro + MMjoy2 firmware. Rel4y (from Germany) has USB controllers ( with Arduino PRO Micro) and contacless sensor (Magneto Resistance KMZ-41 like the ones used in GVL224 throttles) for CH's. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4432938&postcount=113
