Replacing Default Skin for P-51?

Hi folks,

 

First time poster, long-time flyer here. I've been enjoying my time in Bodenplatte so far with the Career mode as a P-51 pilot, though I will say one little thing that bothers me during take-off is how every other Mustang in my flight has the same generic skin and I've been looking to replace that with something that isn't just completely bare-metal with USAAF markings.

 

I've tried following the steps in this thread:

As well as the other threads linked in it, but it doesn't work, at least for the P-51. I think the tricky thing is figuring out the filename of the default P-51 skin. Does anyone have an idea and has anyone replaced the default skin on the P-51 and maybe have some pointers for it?

Are you familiar with how the mission editor works?  It´s easy. Here is a small tutorial how to change the default skins to individual ones for each plane in a mission or campaign. ( of course you need to download the custom skins in first place )

Dont be scared, the tutorial is for dummies and swaping skins is no rocket sience. If I can do this, you can do this as well.

It is possible to customize the skins of each aircraft in the player's squadron.
