There should be a "crash landing on airfield trigger" or simular. There is no perfect solution, and it seems the different authors have different solutions, making it hard to know how to trigger mission complete. Even the official campaigns has different solutions.

If you place a complex trigger with a radius slightly larger than the airfield, you can activate the complex trigger with a "on plane crashed" event and then have a "stationary and alive" event trigger mission success. This will result in a "crash landing" displayed in the scoreboard window and mission success.

You can also make this event larger in size to cover all the friendly territory, and then if you crash land on your side of the lines, you will still get mission success.

Yes! I think you helped me with a system like this for "The little brother " 🙂

After taking a closer look at my Kerch-Eltigen missions, I noticed that they have a similar feature, that disables mission failure when damaging the player's aircraft during landing. But it only gets triggered after reaching the last waypoint and not when returning to base earlier. I think I will leave it that way so missions that were broken off don't count as success when damaging the aircraft. Although when I update the campaign I will increase the area of the last waypoint so player's don't miss it.

I plan to update the campaign after Leningrad/Odessa release. I can't give any details, but there will be some nice new ground objects in the module that will make my campaign more realistic.

I can't talk about them. It's also still not certain which objects wil make it into the game.

I shot down several bombers over Kamush burun, my motor was killed but still I managed to land at Bagerovo (barely) - mission failed!

On the other hand, replaying the same mission over is not repetitive because the enemy is randomized! I am enjoying your campaign, the Bf-109 is such a smooth operator.

Finished the campaign with 30 kills! Enjoyed it very much, although there is one thing that kinda spoils the fun for me - it is fairly impossible to finish missions if you don't turn the "markers" on and don't use Autopilot because you are certain to miss a waypoint, which then fails to trigger the mission complete objective, even if you have landed safely at the homebase. Otherwise, great campaign!

Weird, I played this campaign in September. All missions, without any markers, only with compass in left corner and never turned on autopilot. Except one time when I belly landed too far from base (even when in reality was walking distance away :mda:), all missions were successfuly completed.

30 kills are impressive. I managed to do 15 and die twice in the process. Need to do re-run in the future.

I had I think two cases when I landed at the homebase after a dogfight, but the mission was not complete; when I turned the markers ON I saw I had missed the last waypoint before landing, so the "landing waypoint" didn't activate..

If the landing was succesful without damaging your plane you should get a mission complete message, even when the last waypoint wasn't activated. When it happens again, tell me which mission it was.

Isn't that foreshadowing? I indeed did re-run of this campaign and achieved exactly 30 kills myself. 😅 Now even without dying once. I suppose big part of my offensive success was 30mm canon I was using now instead of 20mm ten months before.

For defence...well...I used my eyes...a lot. And altitude...and speed.  This game is exceptional in learning a player to find small black pixels agains colorful background while playing without markers. Even then I got my tail kicked once. In mission 11...really intense moment during intended "no death" playthrough. That was only damage in all 12 missions, reminder that I shouldn't be cocky and keep focus.

I played all missions from take off to landing without autopilot, without time compression and all missions were successful at first try without restart. Some was marked as Completed in the air, but most of them after landing...as I slowed down before starting to taxi from the runway.

Only once I noticed that probably missing waypoint by me caused enemies to not appear. In mission 4...

Spoiler

...I obviously missed waypoint 2 by flying too much to south on the way to target area. Then I kept patrol around half a hour, listened as all transport planes landed with still no enemy activity in the air. First I thought it is part of randomisation of this campaig...maybe enemies don't appear all the time in this mission. But then I decided to fly back above our airfield and follow waypoints as precise as possible. I missed again, now slightly to the north, as you can see...but it was probably close enough. Automatic order "Attack nearest air target" was given and after maybe minute or so flying north, four LaGGs appeared and my flight attacked automatically. So, I wonder if it was only coincidence, or waypoint 2 is trigger for enemy spawn? Because if it is, then his "hitbox" should be much wider as it is very hard to pinpoint specific place where it is when on the map it's in the middle of a field without any unique landmark around. I am flying without markers on the map.

Anyway, very enjoyable campaign. Good work @Juri_JS
