Well, apparently the campaign isn't very popular. So far download numbers have been rather low when compared to my other campaigns. Is it because too few people own the early Bf-109 G-6?

 

If anyone who doesn't own the G-6 wants to play the campaign with another aircraft, here's a short tutorial that explains  how to do it:

 

1. Open a mission and navigate to Bagerovo airfield.
2. Select the player aircraft and open the "Plane Properties" menu. If it doesn't open automatically, you have to select it by right-clicking.
3. Click the "Model" button in the "Plane Properties" menu and select the plane type you want to fly.
4. Click OK and save the mission.


I think the campaign should work well with the late Bf-109 G-6 from BoN, once it becomes available. The Bf-109 G-2 and Bf-109 G-4 should work too, although the lack of 13 mm guns will be a disadvantage when attacking bombers and Sturmoviks.

After editing the missions, you also need to edit the campaign file "info.txt" and delete the line that specifies required collector planes.

As far as download amounts, i am always a bit uneasy 'flying' for the nazis. Rather chase and shoot 'em with a nasty Yak or Mig instead.

But i will give it a try, thanks for the works ...

@Juri_JS could you upload the latest version and skins to another server. That one is out of service. I am in the middle of the campaign and would much appreciate it!

Totally missed that you had created skins for this campaign too! I'm already halfway but do you mind putting the skins up with a link as well?

 

The campaign is awesome btw! Shredding IL-2s and A20s with the 30mm and 20mm gun pods is a blast! ?

These aren't my skins, they are by PatCartier and I don't want to upload other peoples work. I guess A&A will be back in a few days and the old links should work again.

The Kuban winter Map is perfect for this campaign if you like some snow. Its not fully white like Stalingrad winter, more something between autumn and winter...

Just to chime in, I don't have the G6 and not planning on getting it because of the G6 late now coming out. And I don't really want to play with the mission editor... But if you happen to make the campaign available with another plane I will certainly try it out :)

  • Today I finished the campaign. It was really a great pleasure, so I would like to thank Juri very much for this beautiful campaign. I had to fly some missions two or three times because I was not satisfied with the results. Many missions were unexpected and surprising. Often you got involved in small, insignificant dogfights early on, only to find out that the big battle is yet to come and you yourself run out of ammunition. But I also liked the historical background and the detailed information very much. a very good and atmospheric campaign. Good work!

Great campaign! I noticed on mission 7 you are told there are 4 109s in your flight, but in fact there are only 2.

Thank you, I have correct the mistake.

 

I also noticed that one of the missions had a wrong French briefing. I've updated the download.

Thanks! I also noticed in that mission that what sounds like the Croatian flight of 109s doesn't have a callsign attached to them.

I should hire you as a beta tester. :)

 

By the way, I am also looking for a native English speaker to check the briefing texts. If you find anything that needs improvement (spelling, comma placement, etc.) please tell me.

Glad to help, yes! Once I finish the campaign I'll post my suggestions for briefing revisions, as there are a few so far I've noticed that could be cleaned up a little bit.

I played to the end. Thanks!? I liked the immersion in the historical context. While translating, I read and reviewed a lot of material about this operation. In the missions themselves, I liked that they have playback variations. And also make it possible to occasionally destroy targets such as boats, Yak-9, P-40, U-2 and Li-2. For the last mission I used the winter mod.

I've another one for you: mission 9 says we are to patrol at an altitude of 3000 meters, but all the waypoints on the map list 600 meters as the assigned altitude.

Juri, I found a small issue with mission 11 - the Bf 110 is missing a call sign.

It has a call sign. It should be Raven 1.

Ah yes, you are right. There is another plane right at the mission start that calls out for permission to taxi to the runway that doesn't have a callsign.

 

EDIT: by the way, the wingman AI seemed to a bit off on this mission. No matter what command I gave or for how long I circled around, my wingman never formed up with me. My first tip off that there were enemy planes nearby was when he called out that he was attacking an enemy fighter.

When flights have a cover command they will not fly in formation as usual, but weave above the plane they escort. If you leave the plane you should escort, your wingman will ignore you and stay near the plane.

Just flown the first mission. Managed to bag two Russian fighters then, out of ammo, landed at way too high a speed, ran off the end of the runway and got 'Mission failed'. Not much experience with the 109s and none at all with the G-6, so that will teach me not to put in a bit of practice first. ?

Looking forward to running the mission again, especially if it may play out differently due to random factors. Great stuff. ?

Hello Juri,hello everyone,

Just installed this scripted campaign.Unlike the others that I am playing (all the BoX official purchased) and some 3rd party ones still working after the latest update (4.601) are working,but this one(installed after the update) is not launching.

It appears in the "scripted campaigns subpage,I am entering it,and on the screen where on the left you have the mission list(12) its writen a message"Mission description is loading" but nothing loading,meaning no text...

As I am attempting to start mission 1,the button brings you to the same screen: "Mission description is loading"' and still nothing happpens.

Did anyone else experienced the same issue?

Should I erase it from data/campaigns foder and reinstall it?

Should we wait for this specific scripted campaign for an update from you Juri?

Does make any difference how the game reacts considering the fact that before start buying content from the developers all the BoX that I own(Stalingrad,Moscow,Kuban,Boddenplate),some scripted campaigns and some collector planes as well,I brought it trough steam,not form the game's official page?

I had no time to test it, but I think all my campaigns will need an update because of the latest patch. I hope I will find the time to do it on the weekend.

Yes indeed, the other 3rd party scripted campaigns not working, and not only those designed by you, all of them. Just the official scripted are playable, as of today.

Anyway, enjoyed a lot "Lions" before and a had bought specially for this one the G6,so as soon as you'll update I am sure that I will fly it with great pleasure!

THX for the campaign. Changing the Plane in the editor worked like a charm
