I tried. It gave me the same error! :).  I did a reboot and was able to do a mission. So no idea.

Looked into it.  Are you using the latest version?

That was reported a few days ago.  The issue was that historical aces were not accounted for.  That was fixed.  It would be a pretty rare occurrence as it should only happen if the historical ace is the last guy left unassigned.  I am curious because I would like to know if my fix did not cover all scenarios.

No I'm still on 9.0.2 or is is 9.2? I have not moved to 10 yet for fear of losing my campaign. I've somehow managed to survive for >20 missions!

@DrDeath_MD Nice work on surviving!  FYI - Pat does a great job keeping updates compatible.  I have never had a problem with losing a campaign following a PWCG update.  I just rename the old version and copy the that campaigns folder into the new version.  I even keep the renamed old version in the BoS folder until I am sure everything went okay - that way you can immediately revert if something goes wrong.

For example - Here is screenshot of my current BoS folder with 10.0.1 as the current "PWCGBoS" version (I need to clean up the 9s now that everything has gone fine with 10, but those extra files have never caused me any issues):

I think I will try that Vaibraun. I'm in a Kuban campaign in a Yak1. So far, I've been shot down twice early on but was not damaged. Then in one mission my engine just straight blew up without warning? I bailed but had some damaged and was out for 20 days. Had a few close calls with fighters but so far, I've mostly been tasked with patrols going after bombers and stukas which I can deal with. The secret to survival for me has not been to force an engagement. If there is a furball. I'll try to get a few shots on a bandit and if drug low will extends and reconsider (assuming i can find the fight again) reengaging once I have speed and altitude.

It's backwards compatible.  I have my own campaign that I do not want to lose so I'm motivated to make it so :)

One thing I do is zip up my campaigns folder every so often, just in case.  By the time you see new code it is guaranteed that, at a minimum, my own campaigns have been processed through it.

If you have any issues post the campaign zip and I will figure it out.  As long as that campaign is backed up it's not gone.

I can zip. I did download 10.0.1 from the webpage (and made a donation). I noticed one issue. The awards tab at the end of the mission does not display correctly. A pilot was awarded a ribbon (Soviet injury ribbon I think) and there was only one or two letter per line on the "paper" that was displayed.

Yep - working that one.

Great! Your campaign generator has been fantastic BTW. I love not knowing what is going to happen on a mission. The base game's career missions became predictable after a few missions.
