great news thanks you for all the hard work. But one thing I found out after the resent update is that the throttle in the game is operating backward and I can not invert in setup. Not a complaint just a heads up and seeing if anyone else is have this problem

Change without apply one sensivility curve, not neccesary to do with throtle, and all hotas will revert at normal posición (thottrle and trims).

Sudoku, you get your point across, which is better than I manage to do most of the time and English is my native language! So thanks for contributing.

Thanks and congratulation to the whole team.

I can't wait for the Beta version. In the meantime it is excellent to have a radial engine fighter like the LA-5. By the way the frame rate is perfect on my Asus 780ti.

As buyer of the premium edition, does it mean that I will get the Beta when it comes out and have also the Heinkel bomber at the same time as part of the premium package.

Is my understanding correct?

Apparently no-one noticed anything amiss as no-one commented on my previous post.

But after playing the game some more this week and comparing with screenshots I took previously I'm convinced that the graphical quality/lighting has been reduced a few notches.

There is now reduced variation of light and shade in both landscape and clouds. The result is making clouds look much more like an amorphous mass with no structure and reduced fine detail and graduation of shading - often they look glarish white with no structure apparent at all.

Similar for the terrain - the fine graduations of shading which showed up light and dark variations and gave a feeling of realism and depth have been largely lost leaving a 'bleached-effect' blandness.

Feels like some universal setting for lighting has been tweaked (and not in a good way) and is adversely affecting terrain, clouds, etc. Even the fine-level graduations in evening sky colour seem now to be coarser and less realistic.

It's almost as if gamma setting has been increased, so I tried reducing the in-game gamma setting from 1.0 to 0.9, but without any great improvement.

If anyone else is noticing this then please comment.

It's always difficult to be certain about this but has anyone else noted a dip in graphical quality over the last few updates?

There seems to be a lack of contrast to the visual image especially for times set nearer to middle of the day (as might be expected to some degree :)  but seems excessive - things starting to look a little washed out?

And the clouds seem to have deteriorated as well in last week or two.

Maybe they are trying to optimise? But maybe they're going too far - I'm currently running on Ultra with a gtx260. Perfectly acceptable framerates in the QMB Stalingrad map albeit only with a few planes. But impact of visual image over Stalingrad now much diminished in my opinion.

Yup - I've noticed issues with visibility since the last update too.

Haven't noticed that persay but I do get some weird blockyness on anti-aliasing with clouds and smoke that I haven't been seeing until maybe the last patch or two. It clears up as the aircraft gets closer but from far away it looks like a large collection of blocks.

I second this. I saw a plane disappear 300m from me and then reappear. They start fuzzing out then presto, they are gone! I was running 'Balanced' graphics at this time.

This is what camouflage is for. At times, according to angle, light and background the target briefly melts in the backround such that the hunter loses the instant track of it and has to lock on again. It is so in the natural world, it works bothways for hunters and preys according to various camouflage schemes adapted to the offensive and evasive behaviour and to the natural environment. If you wish not to lose sight of a target ever once you have seen it, you must ask the developer to implement a short range Radar with a 360 degrees (spherical) reach or demand that all the players wear single colour bright orange skin.

Btw, 300m might feel a short range, when you seat behind a computer, but put yourself at 300m from an object the size of the plane you were chasing and please tell me your impressions.

I think we will really start to see this sim shine (like the star it is) once all content has been added and tested. You have to admit it's darn good, or as some of us Aussies would say: "She's a real little ripper mate!'' (please don't ask me to explain that one). Is there a bug report area? If so, I'd be happy to help out there.

I really count on the AI being up to expectation. As I feel it, and I hope to be wrong, in human controlled scenarios there will be essentially La5's, Yak's, 109G2's and FW190's, all of which I am personally not fond.

f4's or 190's for me. I can get better (as it should be) performance from the f4 at the operational altitudes we are seeing. You can keep your g2's until Ivan wants to do some cloud dancing.

Yes I noticed also...(like two or three updates ago) and I think they are aware of it, could be due to testing and implementing different things and features. I guess we could considerer this normal at those stages of development but is positive to pointer out.

Glad that others have noticed it too and it's not just me :)

Expect your explanation is right too and that it will be temporary, but, yes good to point it out.

Yes, anti-aliasing off works for me but My TrackIR is still stuck at 45 degrees off center, which has got me stumped. I also notice that there is a ghost plane which is offset from the real plane by half a plane length.

Good luck to you too.

JimTM

JimTM, I also have this problem with the origin being off-center since latest release: default forward view is ~45 starboard/right-of-center/origin PoV. I even rebuilt my PC and the issue remains ;)

I've edited the snapview files to no avail. There must be a global config file setting the global PoV?  For comparison, DCS World works OK (centered = directly forward/0 degrees deviation).

I don't have the ghosting issues that you have, though.

Love this game, BTW. I'm here for the long haul.

GL,

Willi

Hey Zag,

do you know something about RoF?

Are you a Dev there?

- Bomb sight for Pe-2, first implementation (a bit changed). It's recommended to use it during level flight

- Stats in MP., first implementation. Nations score and round rotation do not work. Personal stats are calculated properly however suggestions and particularly bug reports are appreciated

- Destroyed ground vehicles now can trigger explosions and damage of nearby objects

- Noise filter added to stick settings

- La-5, bug with taxiing at minimal of maximal revs fixed

- La-5, incorrect drag caused by flat wind screen fixed

- La-5, oil spils on the wind screen fixed

- La-5, intake fairing 3D model improved

- La-5, canopy framing 3D model improved

- Yak-1, fixed the bug that allowed to control the plane with ruddder shot off

- Pe-2, balanced the pitch oscillation

- Nav light graphics fixed for all planes

- The bug with plane parts hanging in the air (rudder, wings, etc.) fixed for all each aircraft except Pe-2

- Gun flashes (fire and light) are now visible on other players' plane in MP.
