What's the difference between bronze and gold game name plates under avatars?

Everyone who posts on these forums have the DLCs that they own listed below their avatar/username as patches. For example: or 

I have the Steam version, which is BoS in itself plus I also own BoM, BoK and BoBP yet as you can see I don't have anything listed next to mine.

 

Is there an option I have to activate somewhere? I've not been able to find any information about it anywhere. I have linked Steam and IL-2 accounts, however it doesn't list any purchases on IL-2's website (I'm assuming it only shows products purchased through the website?). Also, I can't import any keys from Steam on this page because there is no way to see them anymore (if that's the way to "activate" the DLCs anyway).

 

Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!

It only appear with purchasing in IL Store and don't appear with Steam purchase.

Like ErwinP said, it only appears if you have purchased the items from the developers store.

 

I own BOS, but as I  purchased it from steam.  I don't have the badge under my name tag.

Why are some bars bronze and others gold? I have a premium but it is bronze so is it gold if pre-ordered?

Yes from what I can remember, gold for premium preorder, and bronze for purchase after release.

The only reason I bought them was to get the badges. I don’t actually fly the game. Duh. ?

Making a 25 mission campaign and do not fly the game. I guess at least one of us having fun with this. 
Anyway. I was pretty sure these bars where gonners. I only look at this forum in my phone where they do not show. And I am pretty sure devs mentioned it

Are you guys sure, you are talking about the same bars. There are many people, who have children and are married because of some bars, or carneval.

Thanks for all your answers! I suspected that was only for people who bought products from the store. I kind of feel left out - I own lots of content but when I post on these forums it looks like I'm a noob that doesn't even own the game ? Oh well, I'll have to stop posting from now on to avoid disappointing myself ?

I guessed that you got the gold version of the thing identifying the games you own if you had the premium edition, but I just bought some premium editions and only got bronze awards.

Easiest way to tell the difference is to bite them. Gold is softer than bronze. If it leaves a mark, it's real gold.

You can see that @=[TIA]=Stoopy accidentally left his Tank Crew badge out in the rain and its now covered in verdigris. I don't get it myself but some people like the aesthetic.

Sadly - I purchased a bulk of items on steam without knowing or realising the negative impact of the tags... I own everything except tanks...! Now I'm left with that painful mistake staring me in the face every time I see my own posts... ?

I’d offer you a couple of mine but I enjoy the elevated status they bring me. The extra perks like movie nights with devs, private luncheons and the ability to help choose what the next theater will be. Yup, no doubt about it, the gold bar is the bomb!

So if Gold is for Pre-Order, Bronze is for purchased from website - presumably Silver is Premium bought from Website not on pre-order...? And why is TC cap, green....... and how do I get the original red IL-2 badge...! LOL - this is like some kind of OCD nightmare...!!

Yeah same here LOL.

I stopped for quite a while after Stalingrad released due to the single player design.

Once that was changed I was back on and fully in. It was too late to get the early access for BOM though.
