There are whole threads dedicated to the .50 caliber argument.  Gavrick said they'd take a look at this topic in more detail when they have the chance.  Harassing the devs and telling them they aren't doing anything for us (particularly when a bunch of great fixes and updates have been added in the last couple months) doesn't help anything.

Unless you blank out "that they just took it out of" and "back", the argument is based on false claims.

 

To the best of my knowledge, the M2 .50 never fired HE rounds in Great Battles or WW2, so I don't think there is any HE round that could be reinstated. The only recent belt changes that I'm aware of are the 13 mm and Italian 12.7 mm.

Agree about WW2, unsure about Great Battles.

Due to the "forced update" strategy it's a bit hard to tell whether there was HE in the belt once upon a time or not, but honestly: It's an academical question, isn't it?

What a interesting topic. But I can no longer distinct facts or opinions. 
Matter of speaking for me P 51 never been a favorite until I tested the DCS one. And then GB. 
Latter I would call tolerable. DCS got another approach than GB. P 51 and P 47 actually stand a chance in all altitudes. 
if only those actually had facts to provide did so and people like me not having it did not. This topic could be very informative. I do not know whst is wrong with P 51. Because when it entered service. The pilot flying it was exceptional well trained. Against a airforce in decline. I wish for more effective ,50 cals. In this game we have to fight superior 30 mm with extremely good maneuverability. It is a game. I would like improvement too. Based on hard facts

I've always felt the Il2 and DCS P-51 were pretty similar in feel, in fact I do better in the Il2 P-51 than I do in the DCS version. With the P-47 it's completely opposite, to me they feel very different from each other and the DCS version feels much easier/capable vs the Il2 version. Sorry for the OT post.
