NO.20_W_M_Thomson Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 I'm not sure if it's me or the server, last couple of times in Flugpark I've experienced some nasty lag, Seems when I get close to a large fight my game just stutters to almost a stop, Last week it sat still for 5 seconds or more. Has anyone else had this? Don't think its my internet, 300 download and 25 upload speeds, ping of around 15 or 20. Sometimes it's almost imposable to do any combating, Stop and go so much I either lose the enemy or he's got me all lined up for the kill. My buddy's don't get it like I do, Thinking it might be my graphics card, 1050 ti 4 gig my fps are around 25 and go to 35 at times. Like I said happens when involved in a large fight of 6 or more planes.

I have noticed a few stutters and once it stopped for a second or two. But after that I was able to carry on without further issue. Not on flugs but zoo wings. Maybe something's going on with this update? Or it could just be that old guy in your backseat farting around …. 1
Zooropa_Fly Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 I noticed a train behaving strangely yesterday - lagging and jumping about on the tracks. Also noticed a plane strtuggling to keep up.. in fact it was Bandit yesterday. (yes - one of them nasty smelly Troll thingy's). Maybe there is an issue since last update. I'll keep an eye out !
slug_yuugen Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 I was getting stutters on a gaming laptop with a 1070 in it but they've vanished after buying a new desktop PC. There are lots of potential causes though so it's kinda hard to say one thing will fix them. I know Combat Box has been battling potential server side issues causing client stuttering. I found a lot of my issues seemed to be related to the rendering of objects being turned on/off depending on where you were looking and turning off distant buildings helped a lot. New machine has been buttery smooth in VR but I've only had the chance to fly a couple of hours on Flugpark when there were lowish numbers.
No.23_Triggers Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 (edited) Yeah, had this a few times now. Doesn't seem to be tied to amount of planes in the vicinity or anything else, though. Just random MASSIVE lag spikes. Having them in SP too, weirdly. Edited June 12, 2020 by US93_Larner
JGr2/J5_Klugermann Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 Other possible causes, shitty Canadian internet or possibly game settings. Last night's map had a lot of clouds which are FPS killers for me( especially when over cities). Consider altering your in game settings and see if you get a bump in rates.
J5_Adam Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 (edited) I used to have a shitty modem from Shaw. I told them for 3 years that it was disconnecting and had spiking issues which caused problems in gaming. When I moved they admitted they were wrong and finally gave me a different one. No problems since. so in a sense @J5_Klugermann is right lol Edited June 12, 2020 by J5_Adam

J5_Adam Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 I don’t know. I moved into a new place in 2013 and they gave me a new modem that included wifi. I moved out a few years later and they gave me a new and improved model. So whatever they were supplying in 2013, that’s what it was. It was crap. i found out through players in RoF that I was zipping across the sky. Then I discovered this weird super spike that I’d get while flying going from 60 up to 400. They didn’t want to admit their gear was faulty so I was stuck with it the whole time
NO.20_W_M_Thomson Posted June 12, 2020 Author Posted June 12, 2020 I'll try setting my graphics down to low and see if things change, If they don't change then it's my modem and if they do it's my graphics card, Which sucks, cards are so stupidly priced now. Probably have to be an AMD card, half the price.
slug_yuugen Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 It could also be your CPU if low graphics settings don’t help.
