Hi, I'm trying to get this game to work on my Dell XPS 8910 Desktop i7-6700/ 32GB DDR4 RAM/ 256GB SSD/ 2TB HDD/ GTX1070 8GB.

As you can see from the attached image there is an ugly long bar of black 'scrambled' blocks in the bottom right hand of the frame. I've deleted and reinstalled the game, but the bar remains.

I must say, my computer really struggles to play this game, very stuttering even on the lowest settings. Not sure if that's typical for a PC with my modest specs.

Any advice on how to get rid of the black line, or how to improve my performance would be most appreciated.

Cheers.

Your computer should be fine to play this game pretty smoothly. Most if not all of your components are better than mine and I run most things at ultra or high and get 60FPS almost all the time.

the black bar looks like an issue some people were getting with AMD cards after the last update, never saw it on a Nvidia. What driver version do you have for the 1070? Also, what AA setting do you have on in the game? Some people fixed this issue by going from MSAA to FXAA, which also improves performance a little.

Hi @RedKestrel thanks for your reply.

Your question about the driver sent me down a little bit of a productive search as I continued to get an error when updating the 'geofroce experience' software. Anyway, long story short - after updating this finally, and various other searches I discovered the root cause of my problem -  my monitor was not plugged into the Nvidia GPU port!

I plugged in the hdmi cable to the correct one  - and sure enough the black bar disappeared and the performance picked up amazingly!

Embarrassing, but true.

Thanks though for helping to push me towards the solution!

Cheers.

When I first set up my PC I did the same thing. If you were on integrated graphics no wonder the game struggled!

Glad you got it worked out.
