BlueHeron Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 So many questions about the Lightning! I'd like to know more about complex engine management, and basic things like where to find the gear and flaps indicators.
Raven109 Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 (edited) Usually for Il2 GB the go to place for such things is Requiem's channel (there are others, which are equally good): Edited June 7, 2020 by Raven109
BlueHeron Posted June 7, 2020 Author Posted June 7, 2020 Thanks, saw that and it's a great start. I'm still not clear on how I can monitor flaps angle.
VA_chikinpickle Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 (edited) There is no way to monitor the flaps position on the P38L. Maneuvering flap setting is 50% deployed, if that helps at all. Here's an old army training video on the P38 about landing, takeoff and single engine operation procedures. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_tf0EEnFug Edited June 10, 2020 by chikinpickle 1
Piekarz Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 How to operate the Air Filter lever (right to the mixture levers)? Is it auto-controlled by the sim, no manual control? What is the Air filter for and how to use it?

I'll take a peek but while videos are helpful I find stuff in writing I can resource while flying are more to my way of learning.. 12 hours ago, ACG_PapaBear said: If you still looking for P-38 and other Manuals i have compiled couple original manuals https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1tfU0AWz4A5xFu0-BmnhWIMJ1eoMF3Adm?usp=sharing Thank you ACG_Papabear! Patricks Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Also, Utopioneer did a fantastic job with this set of training missions. Just ran the 1st one (1st time in the 38J) and was pleasantly surprised with the handling..
