Hi,

I’m normally playing in Wings of Liberty servers and have lot of fun, but yesterday I discovered this video of War Thunder:

Even if War Thunder is an arcade game, I find it interesting to see large scale battles like that with nice communication between players.

Is there similar events in IL2 community?

Thank you

You cant have historical 24/7 server, its to unbalance or to boring for general public.

What you see there is organised and planed event, you can have thouse here if you have comunity that wonts that and have time to build it.

What i offten saw popular 24/7 df servers did in old il2 to make all happy is they would run once or twice a month special mission that was based on recreating some historical event to as close as it was in real ww2, or coop events would be run by some dedicated mission makers, and as you had MP lobby with chat to lanch both df and coop at same place, they would be able to easy atract more people.

Here you need to advartaise it on forum, mission maker is boring so not many make missions, and usealy thouse events dont atract many people as they are here to strickt in realisam options (you basicly have game with one option online, as hard as posible is best...) . If there is enough people interested you have this type events here, not that big or fun probably but you can do some interesting stuff.

But in WT its easyer to make it, it has bigger number of creative people, realsiam options are more relaxed like you see, and player base wiling to do that.

Thank you and I understand what you mean.

I know last month there was some events created by Stormbird. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to attend, but I think we need more events :)

@Nic727, you really believe that video you posted is historical?

There is no such thing as a "historical server" Events are possible. I doubt anything on War Thunder is "historical." Its pretty arcade like.

Combat Box's missions are all based around historical events and battles - for instance we have Y.29 for Operation Bodenplatte, or Closing of the Ruhr Pocket for the final retreat of the Axis in March 45 out of the Ruhr valley. Check 'em out!

There are plenty of events happening, all you need to do is look around ->
