Hi,
Over in the Requiem discord, there are reports of strangely low FPS numbers for people with higher end systems.
So I thought I'd make a spreadsheet where we can input our data to get an idea of what the general performance experience is like for VR players. Based on flying a mission we should pretty much all have Battle of Stalingrad "Intercept on Fredrich"

Here it is, with a bit of a guide on how to get your performance figures.

Spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1akjoDiFiYekEJWSq6ksPqIxmH0lWGIubW6R9_do9QD8/edit?usp=sharing

Also I've created a pastebin of my Startup.cfg settings, in case you wanted to compare, or make a backup of your current startup file and use this one for a more even comparison.

https://pastebin.com/uCeSWR3Y

If you have a look in my startup.cfg and you note anything I've setup badly, let me know.

And lastly, feel free to make multiple entries in the spreadsheet if you change settings etc.

I hope this will be useful for us, as well as the developers to see what the VR experience is like for their users.

Good luck!

How are you measuring FPS average and FPS low? If it's "observe, write down an answer" I don't think that'll cut it.

Chili had a recorded benchmark that was fairly repeatable. You might want to check his methodology here:

We already have years of data from @Chiliwili69.

Perhaps you could collaborate on his existing project rather than trying to re-invent the wheel.

As you know, The Remagen track doesn´t work anymore due to some missing objects of the pilot of Ju-88 and He-111.

I am not going to create a new track since I really have no time to properly track all data as in previous years. I would welcome anyone who volunter to follow the becnhmarking in monitor and/or VR with a common track we can all run.

I can give writting persimision to the person or group of persons who wants to mantain the spreadsheet.

Just let me kow.

Think we need a real game benchmark, one we know for sure everything is in.

Jason mentioned something like benchmark:

cite:  "I need to design a standard test for everyone and check results...."

Maybe we should encourage him.

Is it on the wishlist already?

Then if making an official benchmarking tool, I do hope its not an Videorecording but an realistic scene, and very important FRAMETIMES.

Here an interesting video about ingame benchmarks, with an suggestion to game developers at the end, so if @Jason_Williams is reading I hope he also watch this video. But be fair, for me and I guess most flyers, an ingame benchmark is just a very minor game aspect, only a handy tool, nothing more, as I most admit I do prefer game improvements like the new 4.006 lot more.

BTW this guy does have very interesting videos, like the video about antialiasing.
