I have a Pimax 5K+ and a Nvidia 1080ti and just downloaded the Pitool 260 version with the 144 Hz setting and it is a tremendous improvement.

Brightness is restored and it runs smooth as silk.

@fiddlinjim can you be more specific, what is better, which pitool had you before, did you have problems then? I just read in pimax forum that for simmers 253 is still the best. I have 249 as that is the fastest for me (1080Ti).

To be honest, I do not see lately Pitool improvements with new versions, just some patches for part of population - totally irrelevant for me.

260 259 Fixed backlight darkness caused by the use of smart firmware 144 has a lower projection than 120 better performance (at least when the fight will no longer see the avatar of the enemy) but gpu usage dropped to 75%, can not be tolerated If you do not want to change is not recommended to upgrade itself if used at 72hz, 144hz you can upgrade using the normal viewing angle

I got used to play on 72Hz without reprojection, in reality it is 50-60Hz. So I stay with my old pitool. thx.

I tried lately to left 90Hz, and play - then I have same FPS (50, 60, or 70 in clear sky without action), but then I see strange black dots down on fields, or on sea.

EDIT: 90Hz experience

I use Normal FOV,  I did not like Pitool V259 because of the darkened effect, but quite satisfied with V260.

Haven't checked the FPS but everything runs smooth and clarity seems improved.

I don't know whats not to like about V260.

254a is best as long it is stable (run in Windowed mode). For some users, it has a memory leak. If that occurs, the picture starts to hit a massive drop in FPS in VR, just Alt-Tab in and out as quick as possible. You need any other process in the background.

253 has similar high GPU utilization, but still the frametime jumping - especially on RTX2080ti cards.

All versions after that have low GPU utilization, including 260.

I thought you were speaking about a 260° FOV device..

Is firmware 263B ok with PiTool ver. 254a (HMD, serial 203)?
