Stupid newbie question - why max 9 claimed kills?

Hi, I'm new to the campaign generator and Il2 as well. As I'm still learning I'm using some of the cheaty stuff available like infinite ammo - which is the only reason I managed to shoot down 11 planes in one mission admittedly. Anyway; Is there a specific reason the AAR victories claimed per mission are capped at 9? It was a little disappointing that I couldn't log those last two :(

Because nobody ever shot down ten or more in reality? Or perhaps Pat had to restrict the claiming procedure to single-digits because of program restrictions? Whatever, it doesn't really matter because when you get away from unlimited ammo you'll not get eleven ever again.

Well, I had 10 shots once, just hit the IL-2 cooling system. But it doesn't happen very often.

It was just a restriction based on space.  Not a hard restriction, just easier to code and 9 seemed enough.  For 10 years it has been :)

Haha, very fair! That's my curiosity satisfied. And thanks for the answers

BTW killing more than 9 humans will make you at least some serial killer, and with more kills a mass murderer ... now how's that with killing beers? Massaholic?

At this point in my life killing 9 beers would cause me pain for a week.  Back in the day I could recover by noon the next day.  Now ... no.

It is genocide, because you kill Saccharomyces cerevisiae by the millions. Prost!

I like that beer.  My favorites at the moment that I can actually get are Augustiner and Weihenstephaner.  Still, I have not had anything that beats a local Bavarian brewery.

Yep, czech Budweiser and Pilsner Urquell are amongst the best Pilsner brews in the world. Agree on the bavarian stuff. I just had a Meisel´s Weisse (Bayreuth brewery). Delicious stuff!

I currently have non-alcoholic Maisel Weissbier. Pretty good for a non-alcoholic. I was based a year in Bayreuth in my Bundeswehr Time.

I certainly did my share of drinking in my younger years. And now while I am a lot older and maybe just a little wiser, I no longer

have a taste for it.

I still have the taste for it, just not the health, that's why I am drinking non-alcoholic beer.

Well, if you ever get to Southern Germany, i can recommend Baden Wurtemberg, has more of a French mentality, and also great local Weitzen beers. Best taken on a terrace in a town like Tuebingen. I'l get you one if you get down. Worked there for three months with a theater group some years ago; still love the town and people there.
